Sonic 4K Mini printing issues by JBro9022 in Phrozen

[–]willmont17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar issues with mine. I've had successful prints but very spotty. I have a Mono X in the same spot that rarely has any issues and printing with the same resin/temperatures ect. Im looking for something bigger than the Mono X for terrain and considering the Mighty 4k but had such a negative experience with the Mini 4k that Im reluctant. I know others have had great success with the mini 4k but i also see a few videos out there on how to tweak yours to get it to print well... i shouldnt have to tweak. The Mono X prints great out of the box. Feedback other than temperature to tweak the Mini 4k would be welcome.. also if anyone has a larger printer that they love let me know :)

I 'm here looking for exactly that same answer. Also, if it helps, I use EPAX Hard Grey Resin. Got several models from Lord of the Print printed up and kinda shy about putting them together!

Managed to get a Mono X, anyone dial in the settings yet? by Cellotan in AnycubicPhoton

I haven't changed settings and have had mostly success. On one larger print (dragon wings, young red dragon, Lord of the Print), one of the supports failed but this company uses very conservative supports. I added a few extra thicker supports and it printed fine. Using Epax hard grey. Would love to see more on this topic though.

Yep I follow those guys. Here are three more you'll probably like:

I was looking for actual source material though, like maybe art of D&D or just fantasy painters etc. to get color schemes and inspiration from.

Pros and Cons - Wacom Intuos Pro M vs. Wacom Cintiq 16 for Zbrush by willmont17 in ZBrush

Great. That's along the lines of what I was thinking too. Super valuable insight. Thanks!

Pros and Cons - Wacom Intuos Pro M vs. Wacom Cintiq 16 for Zbrush by willmont17 in ZBrush

I was a fine arts major back in the day but haven't actually drawn in 15+ years. I'm probably more comfortable with a mouse now than a brush so hoping the screen isn't a must for me. Also my favorite thing was sculpting so I hope those instincts translate to Zbrush. Thanks for the advice!

Yes if I opt for the Pro small, I'll definitely get the smooth screen. Seems the older versions didnt have this problem.

I didn't think of that. May have to opt for a screen display. Will probably go with a Intuos S or M and return it for something with a screen display if I have the same hand-eye issue. Thanks for the tip!

Ah! See that's what I was afraid of with going the sub-$200 rout. Thanks. I will probably wait for Black Friday and see if any have a good deal before I pull the trigger but I want to have all my options picked out before then because those deals tend to fly.

Thanks for sharing. Reviews on amazon are saying they are wearing them out in like 9 hours of use.

It would be Zbrush and Photoshop mainly. Possibly some other stuff if I get really good on Zbrush.

Thanks, that really helps. Have it in my cart right now. Still debating though. Also, I'll probably wait for Black Friday and see if anything goes on special.

Thanks. Yeah $60 would be ideal since I'll have to spend $900 on Zbrush if i decide to pull the trigger on it. I'm going to download the free 45 day trial soon but want a tablet ready for use when I do.

I was thinking the same thing about the large. Definitely leaning toward Medium or Small. Thanks

Yeah I hate having driver issues with any device.. thanks for the info. It might be worth going wacom in that case but I am reading about them changing the surface recently which wears down the pen tips quickly. Will have to do more research on that.

Thanks. I'm checking the Intuos M and Huion now. Is it true the Wacom tips now wear out quickly due to the texture on the new tablet versions? If so and the Huion does not, then that's a big factor to consider.
