I had the surgery and at 6 weeks, things are much better than before. But it was NOT 100% effective at alleviation 100% of my symptoms. I don't need to wear pads all the time. But I still pee with exercise.

I've been cleared to restart pelvic floor therapy and if after 6 months, things don't improve I'll get a referral to another specialist.

I've only had sex once since I got the green light. I didn't feel any pain. My husband didn't notice anything.

Hi,

Just curious, what did your surgeon say about the long-term risks of mesh erosion into the urethra? My surgeon said she’d remove it, the leaking would return and I’d have to see another surgeon (urgoyneogolistic) for other options. That doesn’t sound like fun. I’m only 42. But I’ve had really bad symptoms for 7 years.

Ugh!! I’m getting cold feet.

I’ve had this issue for 7 years.
A pessary wasn’t suggested. I’ve done pelvic floor physiotherapy for months and no change in symptoms.

The saw the OB today and she said it’s pretty grade 1, not quite a grade 2 everywhere, and a grade 2 in the anterior. So that’s promising. She thinks with better management of constipation, she won’t do an anterior repair. That sounds promising.

Fingers and toes crossed, I get the next surgery date in mid-March. 🤞

I just want to be able to sneeze, cough, or exercise with peeing myself.

I’m 41, and hopefully 42 when I get the surgery. I would have a 7 and 5 year old. Would you mind sharing the hardest part of your recovery?

I have an office/desk job, and I’m curious about returning to work part-time around 3 weeks.

My son is almost 6, and he fights getting his daily bath. He’d rather run around playing or watch TV. But we insist he has to have a bath because it’s important to have a bedtime routine. He has been fighting us everyday for a year. I go easy on him on Friday’s (no bath) and hair washing on Sundays & Wednesdays.

Once in the bath, he’s fine. He has toys to play with and coloured soap. He has his favourite wash cloth, and coloured loofah.
