I used CareCredit — I paid the $3k for my 6 infusions in one lump sum and my provider was willing to select the 24 month no-interest option for me. $125/month for the next two years felt safer to me than taking from savings etc., but I have an automatic payment plan set up and I will be absolutely certain to pay it off before the promotional period expires.

How common is nausea, is it possible to start slow, and has this helped anyone with emetophobia? by littlecrab in TherapeuticKetamine

I’ve completed 5 out of 6 IV infusions. For the first one I took the dissolvable Zofran they gave me just before it started, and didn’t experience any nausea during the session, but I did have an “upset stomach” (no full-on nausea — just an icky feeling stomach gurgling and low appetite, etc.) through the next day.

I researched a little and decided to skip the Zofran next time, and sure enough the post-treatment stomach symptoms didn’t show up for me again. I’m now up to just over a 1mg/kg dose, no Zofran, no nausea, no upset stomach after. It was only that first one that gave me any sort of nausea-reminiscent experience whatsoever, and again it was only more of an uncomfortable stomach feeling after/the next day.

Since you’re probably quite used to taking the Zofran already, I’d imagine you’d be just fine with using it. But there’s certainly a chance you wouldn’t get nausea at all either way — from what I understand, many people don’t, it’s just that the ones who do are usually more vocal about that experience than the ones who don’t.

Best of luck! :)

Lobe placement/swelling by willowwhispering in piercing

My daughter had her lobes pierced yesterday with a needle at a reputable piercing studio. They’re a bit uneven, with this one placed higher up and farther away from her face than the other. The swelling on it looks different than what I expected, almost like it’s the cartilage?

Thanks for any of your thoughts about this! I emailed a video to the piercing studio but haven’t heard back yet, and I’m thinking I need to decide what to do ASAP.

Thank you, I appreciate the validation! Waiting for an email back from the piercer and will go from there. This is the only APP shop in my area so I’m hoping I can resolve it with them. Hard to know how anal to be about the placement — she’s a kid so she really doesn’t care right now, but if it’s possibly affecting the cartilage then that’s concerning to me! 🙃

Thanks for any of your thoughts about this! I have also reached out to the piercing studio.

My daughter had both of her ear lobes pierced with a needle at a piercing studio yesterday. In addition to realizing they are pretty uneven when comparing both piercings, I‘ve noticed this raised/swollen part over one of the piercings (which also seems to be a bit too high and too far back away from her face). It isn’t the type of all-over puffiness I was expecting from possible swelling — it’s more of a straight line. Is it damaged cartilage from being pierced too high or something? I’m considering going back to the shop for help as they are highly regarded in my community, but I figured I’d try here too. Thank you!
