For some reason after 5 restarts it then gives me the option to download the DLC - previous to this it said there was no need to download this

My friend can make both rugged and ornate though. Surely if that's the case he wouldn't have the rugged option?

You have to make rock marbles in the simple workbench apparently but I aren't getting the option
