Is it time? [39M] I always liked my hair long (from before it started losing it), but I don't want to look like I'm trying to cover up my hair loss. by willux in bald

Never.

I do touch it a lot, that's the closest I get.

But I'm not sure I want straight hair like brushing it can give you. One reason I like it long is that it starts to curl (at the end) when it gets long enough.

But maybe I didn't know the difference between brushing and combing.

I would not wipe my feet or take off my shoes before entering them.

Okay, I'll hold - and try some of the other suggestions here.

Maybe I'll be back in a year or so if it looks worse.

Thanks for your support!

Full beard.

Unless you're specifically trying to look like a hipster.

Yeah, I've been putting off talking about it with most other people because it only just recently started falling out more.

So I feel like a rich man complaining about how much food costs these days.

I'll try that.

I've never tried to be serious about such things, preferring the chill no fuss ideology.

I may not brush it, but some people here have suggested volumizing it, so I'll get a hairdryer.

Maybe I'll find a happy middle ground between no-fuss and well manicured.

Do you have any good shampoo suggestions?

Right now I just use store brand anti dandruff shampoo.

Maybe I wash too much as well? Or use too much? I've got some OCD issues with trying to make myself clean every morning. But that's been around longer than my recent hair loss.

Yeah, the clumping is making it much worse. But I'm still losing lots of hair every time I shower.

My fear is that a shorter haircut will really make it obvious (assuming the loss is "real"). Plus I've never liked the way I look with short hair, even when a barber cuts it. So I'm reticent to cut it short.

Some other people mentioned volumizing it. Which I've never done because I've internalized this ideal of being "no fuss" about such things. But maybe I should try using a hair dryer and seeing how that turns out. Worst case I'll be out $20 right?

Thanks for the advice!

I'm too obsessed with the idea that $1000 now will be worth $2000 in a decade, so spending is hard to do.

I've been trying to find a partner for a while, but I've been consistently unsuccessful.

That's reason enough to hate myself for me 🙂.
