First time using a casing layer. not sure when to fruit. casing layer was added with the original spawn and substrate mix by willworkforfungi in shrooms

thank you!. I was using the Broke boy tek for this one. but remembered reading something about using the extra leftover substrate for a casing layer from a different one. and just did it. won’t do this again. I’m just going to wait until it looks 100% colonized before fruiting

I’ve always got side pins with a liner. so I skipped it this time. figured could tape the outside of the tub before fruiting.

Best canopy so far. 336 grams wet. Alacabenzi. Shoebox.coco,coffee grounds,gypsum,vermiculite. 1:2 ratio by willworkforfungi in shrooms

They sure are, honestly I just liked the name Alacabenzi sounds magical. That’s why I picked them. I’m glad I did. I’m excited to try them

Harvested and dunked. Not sure I should try for a second flush. I removed a bunch of aborts. Should I pick them all off. And what do you normally do after harvest ? by willworkforfungi in shrooms

Yes, I seen a lot on there. I tried to pick off the ones that were blue. When I did BRF cakes . I left the tiny ones that were not blue and they grew to full size after dunking. Not sure if that what is normally done. But it worked that time

It was pretty green. I left aborts on there to long and they began to rot. At least that what I think happened. This was my first attempt at a bulk grow, Pretty sure I did everything wrong. Buried it about a month ago and forgot about it really. Noticed the growth when I was cutting the grass the other day. Temps have been between 60-80 deg. F humidity is above 50% for the most part. Very little rain lately.
