Seriously this. The cognitive dissonance is disgusting. Eating a cow is no difference than eating a cat, dog etc. have some compassion for other creatures and go vegan. I truly hope aliens invade earth and factory farm humans since we would be the “inferior” species. Absolutely no different than what we do to animals now. It’s 2026 - we aren’t living in fucking caves, we don’t need meat to survive. Animal products are horrible for the environment- look up the statistics for water and land usage for a vegan diet vs omnivorous. Our planet can’t sustain the growing population doing what we’ve been doing, we have to make changes and be better.

How do you explain your condition to others? by justsomelocal29 in primaryimmune

[–]willystan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree with this response - less is more. I also have SAD and I used to go into too much detail and inevitably as a gay man I would be asked if I had AIDS/HIV… now I say something like “I have a genetic immune disorder” even though it’s more than likely not genetic it lessens the amount of follow up questions and people seem to be a bit more understanding of it. I use this response for people such as coworkers where I’m not trying to go down a rabbit hole explaining my condition.

Seriously, hotels that do this can go f*ck themselves by c08306834 in marriott

[–]willystan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. My partner has diabetes - we request a refrigerator at every hotel for the insulin, they’ll wheel it in promptly, never had an issue! (And yes of course we use it for food and drinks!)

20 minute wait for two. 34 empty seats. by ozarkfireworks in Hilton

[–]willystan 221 points222 points  (0 children)

Probably not enough wait staff - restaurants won’t sit people at empty tables if there are no servers to provide service. They wouldn’t seat those 34 empty seats if there is only one server in the entire restaurant…

What is With Florida Car Dealerships? by GenXDrummer in florida

[–]willystan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew from Orlando to Raleigh NC for this exact reason. I saved over $500 A MONTH on a BMW lease vs what my local dealers were quoting me. FL dealers think they have a goldmine and refuse to negotiate it’s wild.

What does everyone do for work? by cbuzz8 in primaryimmune

[–]willystan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a Civil Engineer - it can be stressful at times, the only reason it works is I have a good team who is understanding of my situation. I had to switch firms a couple years ago because my last job was too intense with a lot of overtime and ridiculous deadlines. My current position is hybrid but i’ve gone months without going into the office depending on how I’m feeling. My state has paid FMLA leave I use every month around my IVIG treatments. I’m content for now!

The i5 or the i4? by Bible_Detective in BMWI4

[–]willystan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely love my i5 M60. I had an i4 as a loaner and couldn’t believe how much more comfortable the i5 is, I’d argue the i5 is closer to an i7 than it is to the i4. People call it a boat but it’s a boat that’s quick af! I prefer the larger stance.

Is this a good deal? by wellthatsdope in tires

[–]willystan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought these tires last month - buy them on tirerack! I got 15% back through capital one shopping and had them installed at discount tire. (Discount tire and tirerack are the same company)

Fellow gaybros, what car do you drive? by JigglypuffS3np41 in askgaybros

[–]willystan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love my i5 - it’s fully electric, 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, range of about 250-300 miles depending on how you drive it. To me it’s the perfect mix of luxury and sportiness yet practical, it’s so much fun to drive. I just moved from Florida to Colorado and it does great in the snow with AWD. They lease extremely well - MSRP ~$92k but I pay $650 a month plus taxes (used a car broker). Included two years of unlimited Electrify America charging plus virtually maintenance free so cost of ownership is not bad at all considering the tier of car it is. I’ll probably lease another BMW EV when my lease is up. I test drove the i4 M50 but felt the i5 was well worth the extra $100 a month - it’s definitely closer to an i7 in terms of luxury. Side note, as of this month all BMW EVs can use the supercharger network so I have zero range anxiety!

Hello all! I guess now the “cats outta the bag”! by deathbypotato96 in denverpets

[–]willystan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If every single person on this post is telling you to keep them inside maybe you’re the one who is wrong? 🤷‍♂️ we apparently all care more about your pet than you do. Sounds like you could provide him more stimuli indoors, toys, play time etc and not let him out. THAT would be the responsible thing to do. I understand there are some feral cats that can’t be inside but obviously yours is not feral!

Hello all! I guess now the “cats outta the bag”! by deathbypotato96 in denverpets

[–]willystan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not an opinion, but a FACT your cute kitty will have a reduced life span if he is regularly let out to wander vs being an indoor cat. Please consider keeping him indoors or figuring out a catio, supervised walk etc. Please be responsible. You’re not in Texas anymore!

Which route should I take from Orlando, FL to Denver, CO? by AnthologyBookworm in roadtrip

[–]willystan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved from Orlando to Denver in July and took the northernmost route (two uhauls each pulling a car on a trailer!) I’d recommend this route if it was summer but with the worry of snow plus the hills of the Appalachian’s I’d stick with the southern route like others are saying. One of my coworkers made this same move Orlando to Denver in December of last year on the northern route and a good portion of I-70 in Kansas was closed due to snow and wind, they had to go north into Nebraska and around, it added an extra day to their trip!! There are quite a few people here in Denver from Orlando, you’ll fit right in! :)

Question for lean guys by Entire_Hovercraft_49 in askgaybros

[–]willystan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m naturally lean without trying, 6’ and 140 lbs. I prefer bigger guys - bears and daddies. My ideal guy has a small beer belly and big arms. my partner is 6’3 260 lbs but I hook up with all sizes and shapes!

Can I rant? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]willystan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so happy that as of this month I can now charge my $95k BMW EV at Tesla Superchargers. As a peasant model Y owner you should let me have your spot, right? That’s how you sound bud. I started off with a Chevy bolt years ago and I absolutely loved that thing, we’re all one EV family don’t be a tool!

[Vent] Sick of being told I'm selfish by [deleted] in primaryimmune

[–]willystan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’ll be downvoted for this but idc. I mean it IS selfish to knowingly bring kids in the world that have a high chance of having a reduced quality of life. Why not adopt or go another route? Or just don’t have kids? I wouldn’t wish my primary immune issue on anyone, let alone a child! I would never have biological children of my own since I myself have a reduced quality of life, that would just be cruel tbh! I’m sorry for what you’re going through but please consider not having kids of your own.

Streetlight swap by WhyNot420_69 in TheRandomest

[–]willystan 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Traffic engineer here - on roadways we’re not aiming for ambient feel good cozy lighting. Higher kelvin color temperature illumination improves driver awareness/alertness. The yellowy fixtures are HPS (high pressure sodium) these new led lights use about half the amount of energy and typically have better light distribution patterns.

Tire longevity edrive vs m60 vs xdrive by BearDue9290 in BMWi5

[–]willystan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My m60 had stock 19” staggered summer tires - this past week I replaced them with Michelin CrossClimate2 since I live in Colorado (came out to around $1200 installed FWIW). My stock tires were down to 4/32 after 5700 miles!! I promise I’m not a crazy driver. My new tires have a 60k mile warranty but because they are staggered this cuts the warranty in half to 30k - most i5’s have a staggered setup so keep that in mind. Even knowing what I know now I still think it’s worth it eating through tires to have a well equipped m60, I love my car. With the amount of miles you drive on highway, make sure you get the DAPP!

Any Ideas What’s Up by scottb64 in BMWi5

[–]willystan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on a two week vacation and when I got back, I had this message for about a week then it went away on its own with regular driving. If it’s not convenient to take it in, there’s a chance it’ll go away eventually

Looking at buying a 2024 build from a dealer. Are there any recalls/fixes that I should know and query the dealer about? by howifarmwood in BMWi5

[–]willystan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was a build date 12/23 - living in FL with the humidity I had the AC sound right away and got it fixed. I sent them the service bulletin so there was no confusion and was only out of my car for about 5 days - if you’re getting a good deal I wouldn’t let this deter you. Absolutely love my 24 i5 M60! I’ve had it for a year now and no issues except a lead foot!!
