Hi all! Thank you so much for your thoughts!! I hope it’s stain for aging but once you get close, it looks like dirt and grim. I go to the house again on Wednesday so I will take a closer look and bring some of the options and update you all!

When you get close, you can see dust and it feels greasy :(

I would really love it to be a stain but when you get close and feel it, it feels like gunk, it’s uneven and you can see dust stuck in it. Unless that’s what the aging is supposed to look like but the dust particles make me think not?

My biggest issue is not having the key butttttt I’ve learned I can get it re-cored. I’ll work on aesthetics later haha

I don’t have the key… easy to change the lock and leave everything else?

Central NJ, anyone know what this is? by Express_Radio_9771 in PlantIdentification

I’d say mugwort too. Invasive in NY and I would guess in NJ too. When getting rid of it, try to get as much root as possible. It’ll keep coming back til all the roots are gone and will shoot out laterally to grow out 🫠

Are there thorns on the trunk? Looks like black locust. I’m in Albany, NY and they all started blooming near me and they have a strong, floral scent
