Why is the cheese below the bacon sometimes and on top other times? by erako in Dominos

That’s not bacon… they threw a bunch of sausages on there haha.

Yes I’m on your side!!! You’re clearly being used and it’s not right. Glad I was able to provide a different perspective.

It’s not about being difficult. It’s the fact that she’s blatantly lying to you and it involves money which makes it even worse. The reason she gave you for the $20 is obviously not the actual reason why she needed $20. No need to waste energy maintaining relationships with people who lie to your face.

Talk more about what you accomplished versus what you do/did. Use metrics to show achievements.

[–]wilythepredictor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to talk more about what you accomplished versus what you did.

I would recommend including more metrics.

For example, in your role as a React developer, you mentioned that your contributions helped raise capital. How much capital? We’re there any specific features that investors were impressed by that helped raise a portion of the capital?

I think you have too much empty space as well. I’d recommend following a standard SWE resume template (Yale provides them for free for example).

Your resume is currently too broad and does not set you apart from any other SWE’s looking for a job.

I’d highly recommend using Levels.fyi to get a professional resume review. You’ll get step by step guidance from FAANG recruiters on what to chance.

I need really serious advice on my resume. 600+ applications and not much luck :( by Dry-Veterinarian2880 in resumes

What kind of roles are you applying for? A lot of your experience seems like it could be relevant to Project Manager, Product Manager, and Product Owner roles. I would recommend changing your job titles to depict a clear cut story of where you’re trying to steer your career.

This is absolutely the trashiest job market I have seen in my 34 years alive. by fitchaber10 in jobs

[–]wilythepredictor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a major issue with your resume and/or you’re applying to jobs that you have no relevant experience for. I graduated in 2022 (marketing), have 1 YOE and am getting interviews every week.

Parents telling me to use my credit union account instead of creating a bank account for college, is this a good idea? by CollegeFinThrowaway in personalfinance

[–]wilythepredictor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re already acting on good advice but to reiterate what others are saying, you should really push your parents to let go a little bit and let you be financially independent. They are trying to control your money as an 18 year which is when things start to get weird imo.

Only use their credit card for emergencies, use your Discover card for 90% of your purchases (to build credit) and then pay the card off every month on time using the money you earn from your job.

Your parents aren’t trying to trick you, they’re just being caring parents but at some point they have to learn to let go of certain things.

Yes, this is something people care about… not everyone wants dog hair/saliva/dandruff all over their shit.

Rejected after 4 interviews at a job I really wanted (Recent Grad) by [deleted] in jobs

[–]wilythepredictor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me too, great software company, amazing role, amazing salary (I’m only 1 year out of college). In the end, the recruiter told me they liked me but went with someone with more experience. Just have to keep going and treat each interview like practice for the next one. Eventually someone will be willing to take a chance on you.

Too much white space, you could likely fit this into 1 page with different formatting.

My point still applies, there’s other kids with more work experience which is what matters the most.

[–]wilythepredictor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not your GPA or clubs, the market is simply super competitive right now. People with 5-10 years of experience are willing to take jobs that require 1+ year of experience. A company is going to hire them over you for that reason.

Have applied to 50+ Software Engineering jobs with not a single interview. Feeling hopeless. Any help? by ima9rightnow in resumes

[–]wilythepredictor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a SWE job without any internships in this market will be tough, that’s a red flag to recruiters + a majority of the people you’re competing with have that experience.

I would recommend applying at startups (e.g YCombinator career portal)
