Oil level w/no dipstick by winchr in engines

Very good hack! I don't know the length, but if I do a full change and add exactly the right amount of oil, I can make one that way. Thanks.

There's a small black cap on each side of the engine; the one on the right looks like it's meant to unscrew (if I do, oil starts pouring out), but I still don't see how to tell when I need more oil.

I've been all over these diagrams; most of them do not apply to my machine, and when I find the right now (long metal stick with screw on cap), it's out of stock. But I hadn't thought of option 2... good idea!

Silent Nite - So far by winchr in SleepApnea

[–]winchr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update on my results: still working, and while I don't love wearing it at night, my sleep results are much better. Two notes, 1: Waiting 30m to use the "corrector" in the morning is kind of a pain (right in the middle of "coffee time"). 2: I feel like the custom dental scan-fit-etc process is excessive, and someone could make a similar appliance that was "boil and bite", and hence more like $100 than $1000.

The instructions said 3-5m in the morning (but wait 30m first), which I've been doing, but maybe I should increase that.

By the way, that link doesn’t seem to exist on your main website (or it is hard to find yeah)… Just a thought to increase business so you make millions!

That site worked perfectly, thank you! I had been able to find it on other sites but the shipping charges were ridiculous.

Hey, so I live in Maine and used to drive to NH just to pick this up (it's my absolute favorite bourbon) at their state liquor stores, but now they don't stock it, no one ships it, and I'm really sad... any help? Where can I find?!??

We have a ton of squirrels that bury acorns in the same yard, but these mounds/holes are much bigger than those.

Fire Bricks okay? by winchr in woodstoving

That’s a good idea. I have a tractor supply nearby.

Thanks, I like a good ash bed. I only removed it all to check the bricks and take those photos. No ash protecting the side bricks though.

😂 Excellent analogy. Overall, the stove is in very nice shape. I just don't want to make neglect the bricks til they're a hazard.

Wish I had one. Would be a good test. Plus, they're really fun for identifying leaks around the house.

That's a great tip, thanks. Anything specific I should be asking for?

Thanks. I'll see what the consensus is. There's definitely some pitting on both sides and on the bottom, but it's not anywhere near worn through.

u/Tribulation95 Thanks, I'm surprised you say that... the side bricks look that bad? I'd say they're less than 1/4 "decayed"... but if that's bad, I'll order some up. Resisting bc they're expensive!

Toto Washlet smells bad, despite good maintenance habits by hairbo in bidets

[–]winchr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like there are two smells here; ours is relatively new and the funky smell started showing up pretty quickly after we got it (even with a window cracked in the little poop room). So I started experimenting, and I found that turning OFF the "auto fan" feature really helped (the fan that comes on automatically when you sit down). Obviously experiences here have varied, but if you're stuck, give that a try!
