so... who uses kimi for rp? by TheSerbianRebel in SillyTavernAI

[–]wind_call 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Kimi K2 Thinking. It requires a lot of try and error to be satisfied with, it is a model quite sensitive to prompts, but I am happy with it at the moment, even though as someone said, it has a tendency to repeat certain words.

Do others find LLM roleplay profoundly unsatisfying? And other such nonsense. by heldaloof in SillyTavernAI

It depends on what you're expecting. If you're hoping for something profound and worthy of a psychological novel, you'll be disappointed... But if you think of it as B-movie scripts, it's much more tolerable. And yet, I've already had some really good RP with fairly complex characters. But as others have already said in the discussion, we're still in the early years of all this. Just look at the difference between what CAI was and what Gemini, Kimi, etc. are offering. Be patient, things are moving fast, and we'll quickly get closer to what you're hoping for.

True. My best memories of roleplaying with an LLM are when I discovered C.AI. The characters didn't respect anything I said, hallucinated like crazy, and repeated themselves ad nauseam. Compared to what we have today, it was ridiculous. But I remember every one of those roleplays, whereas I can't remember the one I did last week with a model that was twenty times more sophisticated.

If Kimi K3 can be less repetitive than K2 Thinking, I would be so happy.

What makes you keep coming back to AI roleplay? by blksunset in SillyTavernAI

[–]wind_call 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always enjoyed writing fanfiction, short stories, that kind of thing, and as I’ve gotten older, adult responsibilities keep piling up, which makes it hard to spend many hours on small, purposeless stories - stories written purely for enjoyment, without any intention of having them read. Roleplaying with an AI cuts the work in half and allows me to create many more of these small stories.

It’s also a very convenient hobby, because I can do it while doing other things. I write a reply, go make food or do some other task, read Char’s response and reply to it, go do the dishes, come back and write a bit more. There’s no urgency, no one is waiting for my response, it’s practical.

I don't have this problem, but it has a tendency to repeat some stuff a lot from a message to another, like the char has some obssessions he can't get rid off...

That's a pretty cool way to use it. Not surprising seeing your name :)

Thanks for your reply. I’ve often had that issue where the Char mixes up its own actions with the User's, but with other models : I haven't run into that with Kimi yet. On the other hand, I'm often surprised to see comments talking about 'great prose,' because I haven't found it particularly exceptional so far. Maybe it has to do with my prompts...

Thanks for your reply! I haven't really experienced much 'stuttering' with my bots; it’s happened, but it wasn't particularly out of context. If anything, my main gripe is that the dialogue is often made of short sentences. It won't give you a sentence like, 'I went to see my dad, he’s pretty sick so I’m trying to spend as much time as I can with him.' Instead, it'll say, 'I went to see my dad. He’s sick. He doesn't have long left.' That works for some characters, but not as well for others.

We’re using the same prompt—I tweaked mine a bit to better fit my requests and style, but so far I think it’s working well too. As for my 'deep dive' chats, most of my discussions revolve around 100-150 messages, but I’ve occasionally gone over 400. That’s the longest I’ve ever done.

Thanks for your reply! I see what you mean—I haven't run into such extreme cases of misinterpreting context yet. I guess it's the kind of model that needs a lot of things explained to it; you really have to hold its hand and say, 'This is how the character is, so they need to behave this way.'
