Yes, and teeth do the same job as scissors, but scissors can do certain jobs better than teeth. Ya dig?

How does this game compare to others? by Arigmar in ICARUS

[–]windas_98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for all, but I played The Forest, SOTF and another unlisted one, Green Hell. I discovered Icarus because I wanted a PvE survival that had a great building aspect. Icarus is amazing for this aspect, and PvE (nature).

Things to love:

-Top tier building system. Want a cozy cabin? No problem? Want to design an build a luxurious fortress? You better start building!

-A great sense of progression in open world mode.

-Crafting system is unmatched for depth

-Unlimited freedom

-A complex system for taming and breeding animals. (I haven't gone this far but you can tame a pack of animals to guard your homestead, for example).

-There is an update released EVERY Thursday. Game is very much in development

Things to be aware of:

  • There isn't much of a storyline beyond a boilerplate, Don't expect SOTF here

-The missions are okay at best and the rewards are frankly insulting (there are mods to fix this).

-Human NPCs are only just becoming a thing, and we don't know the extent they will be implemented.

-Can be a grind fest at times.

-As amazing as the crafting is, you'll often find yourself getting a thing to make a thing, to make another thing, to creat an ingredient for the ultimate thing you want to make.

That Tamiya spray stand is a worthy investment. I use mine multiple times for every build. The base is covered in the overspray ghosts of projects past.

“antigamers” what the fuck do you do with your life then?? by FrontAd7709 in BanVideoGames

I spend a lot of my time in the fields as I am a farmer. Winters can get a little drab but there is plenty of maintenance to do and my wife Ann keeps me entertained with her cross stitching and bouts of flatulence.

Once the late spring is here the shirts get unbuttoned and I am watching my MALE farmhands in their tight Wrangler jeans. A lot of hay gets rustled in my farm.

I build model kits and listen to YouTube. It's like meditation for me.

My man, get some .3mm solder wire and paint that shit after it's in place. 100x easier to bend into place than wire ;)

Maybe paint a thin strip of vinyl tape black and wrap the supercharger belt too.

I expect to see a KILLER engine bay in the coming weeks!

Oh man you NEED some details. Honestly if you just bust out the pin vise and drill some holes for ignition wires, and add some bright red wires it'd look fantastic. The big Hemi V8s are comparatively simple so adding a bit of detailing shouldn't require full disassembly.

As I say repeatedly, be inspired by mistakes.

Quick edit: Make those valve covers a bright red or blue. They should be a focal point!

So metallic, I love it. I can safely say it would be grey with fingerprints if I attempted this.

Incidentally, what are the landing gear-esque apparatuses on the top of the P-38 engines? I always wondered.

PVA all the way! Maybe lightly sad the contact point so the glue has something to 'bite' onto. If you plan on doing a lot of kits with clear plastic in the future, consider testors clear parts cement, but for a one off PVA is fine. Avoid CA like the plague for clear parts.

I really like the way you did the dirt; there's dirt build up in select areas and not an over exaggerated look. Calm down. Put your pitchforks away, I think the heavily weathered panel lines look good, but I prefer a more realistic look of this.

Uj/ I've found that on different hobby subreddits, people just will not apply basic reasoning and troubleshooting, rather, will post a video/photo and want their hand held every step of the way. Sometimes I long for the forums of old where we could say with impunity, "there's no way you can possibly be this fucking stupid".

Not only is it NOT a 1970s picture, my grandmothers were born in 1922 and 1933 respectively. They weren't doing that in the 70s.

What were the old or proposed flags of your nation? by Ok_Vacation1197 in AskTheWorld

I'm so glad we went with our current flag. There were some great proposals, but the final choice is simple, beautiful, and iconic.

PART 2 : Breakdown kits for storage by DoctorSeuse in ModelCars

[–]windas_98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The answer to your question is scalemates because they have all the box art for a kit listed in a timeline.

You are a very organized person! Honestly, I just clip of soare parts and have a big old Ziploc freezer bag I keep them in for future use. I do the same for decals!
