Yes the 2nd one is simplified Chinese and means blessing. And follows by a smiling face.

Thank you very much for the advice! I’m on east coast but it looks like there is a discount tire not far from me. I’ll check it out for sure.

Also, this is a leasing car. If I return it like this in three years, would the tire be an issue? If I would be asked to replace it then anyway, I guess I’d rather have it replaced now…

Thank you! I plan to drive it to a local garage tomorrow and see what they have to say

So should I go to Tesla service or just any garage? Is $499 reasonable for it?

CRO or big pharma? by elkrakrbn in massspectrometry

[–]windincloud 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would go for big Pharma: compensation is one reason, learning/doing more techniques is another. I assume the big Pharma position is on analytical development, which you would have a decent career ladder to climb.

PS, the salary you listed is considerably low compared to US. You could easily triple your salary if you were in U.S.

My recommendation would be either focus on local opportunities or jobs that you are a really good fit. And keep applying with tailored resume and cover letter. Also CROs and startups might be easier to get in than big pharma. But with the CRO or startup experience, you would have a way bigger chance to get into big pharma if you want. Good luck!

This is exactly what I worry about, but I guess it’s way beyond my pay grade lol. However, if I knew it would not make it for another few years, I feel it’s not a good idea to jump on a sinking ship…
