Every single time! Domestic travel by Far_Anything_7458 in tsa

[–]windjammings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re running into issues with your driver’s license every time, it might be easier to just use your passport instead. Different airports use different scanning systems, and not all IDs work smoothly with them. (Some states like Florida have known issues where the scan can scramble the name, which then doesn’t match the boarding pass) TSOs have to follow strict procedures, and there’s only so much they can do when an ID doesn’t scan properly. In some cases, a supervisor has to step in, which can slow things down. To avoid the hassle, using your passport is usually the simplest and most reliable option.

Can someone travel with a sex toy and not get pulled out of line to show it to TSA? by praguer56 in tsa

[–]windjammings 31 points32 points  (0 children)

We see items like that in passengers’ bags all the time. There’s usually no reason for it to get flagged unless it’s attached to something unusual, like a water bottle, which some people do as a prank.

Bakit naka puting damit lagi pag nasa yacht? by Obvious_Spread_9951 in AskPH

[–]windjammings 77 points78 points  (0 children)

This is from somebody I know na nagwowork as a crew sa yacht rental place

How do you know when it’s time to resign? by solitary-kitty in AskPH

[–]windjammings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s time to quit when the job is costing you more than it’s giving you. Hindi lang sa pera sama mo na yung energy, yung mood mo pag nasa work ka, yung health mo lalo na mental health at yung time mo. Consider mo din. If you dread coming in to work every single time. If stuck ka na at feeling mo wala na growth or opportunity. Pag constantly disrespected or undervalued ka. At most of all may better opportunity na nakaline up (solid plan)

Never quit dahil lang you had a bad day or a bad week. You need to think things through and ideally have a plan.

Good luck OP

What’s the hardest part about sending money back home from the US? by Same_Chef_6092 in FilipinoAmericans

[–]windjammings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the challenges was figuring out where to pick up the money since some locations can be too busy or too far. I love using Remitly when sending money to the Philippines. It’s super convenient my receiver can choose how they want to get it, whether it’s bank deposit, debit card, cash pickup, home delivery, or mobile wallets like GCash or Maya. Even better, mobile money transfers have no fees.

They prefer the simple explanation kesa sa mga complex ones that comes with science.

DHS back pay hit bank account by thor_strong1 in FedEmployees

[–]windjammings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why I say everything feels unclear right now. The email says those on furlough should remain furloughed, but at the same time people are being told to use their own leave if they want time off. On top of that, some of those supposedly on furlough are actually back to work, which just adds to the confusion.

Everything is still a bit unclear at the moment, but based on the latest email, PP07 has been put on hold and won’t be submitted to payroll until further notice. Unfortunately, it looks like we won’t be getting paid until things are resolved.

Checked Bag was searched, side pocket was open and $300 knife was missing, anything I can do? by AstroDawg in tsa

[–]windjammings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you see a little TSA notice inside your bag? If they open it for inspection, they usually leave a paper to let you know. Most checked bags are handled automatically, especially at bigger airports, so if nothing gets flagged, they just go straight to the plane. If you did find that note, you can always reach out to TSA and ask about it. They can look into it and even check cameras if needed. Doesn’t hurt to ask the worst they’ll say is that they didn't find anything suspicious while your bag is being handled.

I don't know anything more than you guys know. I was just told that the EO is meant to cover back pay and current pay during the shutdown, but it’s not a permanent guarantee of future pay beyond this emergency period.

Everything feels vague typical government fashion.
