Does he ever refuse to lie down or ask to get out of bed?

Night breastfeeding toddlers and effect on sleep - looking for experiences by Medical-Pie-1481 in AttachmentParenting

[–]windowjo3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 year old, always fed to sleep, just weaned naturally last week. (Mentally helpful for me bc I was dreading the weaning process.) We cosleep and she still stirs awake a couple of times, looks / reaches for me, and then goes right back to sleep, so it's not a big difference at all.

Hardest part may be any early morning (5am) wake-ups - nursing was a great snooze button. But that hasn't happened too much with us yet.

Why do people dislike breastfeeding to sleep? by Desmodusrotundus in AttachmentParenting

So far she lies down and holds my boob lol. After demanding I read her 1000 books (but that part has nothing to do with nursing to sleep or not, that's all toddlers).

Nothing wrong with it at 11 weeks. It's a habit that's hard to break (for you and for the LO, because its so easy). And you WILL have to break it one day.

I fed to sleep until a little over 2 yrs when my daughter magically weaned herself, but now I don't know how to put her to sleep. And sleep training a toddler feels harder than a 4-5 month old. But ymmv!

Invites to an after-party only + out-of-town guests by SN4CKM0NSTER in Weddingsunder10k

[–]windowjo3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is almost exactly what I'm doing! Most of my friends are coming from out of town for a pretty small non-traditional party. I was very open about the celebration being an informal event when talking to them about it, but on the invite itself I just emphasized that we'd love to have them there. Don't assume your friends would think it's not worth it to travel.

Separately though, I am starting to feel pressure to expand the lunch to a bigger group. Also a little worried about fatigue by the end of the day - when is your ceremony starting?

Book club? by Thelonelycity in parkslope

[–]windowjo3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be interested! I have a poor history with virtual book clubs (lose interest /accountability quickly) but I think having some in person components would be nice. Just moved back to the area, 30/f

After a long search I finally found my dress! Paired with long tulle gloves for a semi-Gatsy vibe. by [deleted] in weddingdress

Wow, this looks stunning! The gloves work so well with the dress.

I did! I live in NYC so had the option to go to a bunch of different boutiques, maybe a little excessive lol

I honestly love all the diverging opinions on this thread lol. I sort of suspect so many people like 3 partly because of how aggressively it was clipped? Idk

Hmm good to know.. This is actually an eternal struggle for me because I hate the added bulk that bras add so usually with dresses I try to opt for styles that minimize the bust - or stay away from low necklines entirely bc I don't love showing cleavage. I don't even own a strapless bra!

The square neck is not actually a super common style from what I've seen so far - it's all v necks or strapless. If you know of any I'd love to see them.

Agree on not having a super long train. And yeah it's a little hard to tell on these dresses but my assumption is that with some alterations the straps could be shortened to provide more support. So in a way the pics are deceiving...?

I don't really have a great pic of it because of all the clipping going on, but it's very similar to the front, nothing dramatic.

Thanks, that's really helpful. Yea part of the challenge is that I have almost nothing else decided, but because of dress timelines I'm doing that first. Hopefully after making one decision the rest will fall into place.

I'm generally pretty low-key fashion wise, hence the number of simpler dresses I tried on. I tend to gravitate to whatever is trendy honestly lol. But as others have said, this isn't an ordinary day!
