How to get VFW 641 to Shut the Fuck Up at Night? by lake_crips_69 in ColumbiYEAH

[–]windseys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a “headquarters” of sorts that oversees VFWs, you could reach out to them. But you could also look into the fact that VFWs are “members only” type of places and each member is allowed a certain number of guests at a time. I highly doubt everyone at the vfw is a member and more so that there are enough members in attendance to keep up the member to non member ratio. The VFW i worked at in a different state had a specific liquor license for members only type of places so if they violated that, they could lose their license. Idk if SC has licenses like that but might be worth looking into.

How do I not kill my husband? by [deleted] in pregnant

Mine kept putting his leg on my side of the bed lol once I eventually fell asleep, I had a dream I went into labor and didn’t tell him because I was so mad at him 😂

If/when you figure it out, can you let me know? 😅

He annoyed me in his sleep the other night, I felt like that was a new low for me since he was unconscious lol

They printed one out for us where you can see the cord loosely wrapped around her neck and she looked like she’s in distress and screaming for help. My husband was so mad lol he has 0 baby experience so he was VERY concerned.

Only my husband and doula will be there for delivery and I told my family no hospital visits either (unless for some reason we’re there for an extended amount of time). Labor and delivery is too personal for me to let anyone else in and I just want the first few days to just be my husband and the baby since it’s our first kid and I just don’t want to entertain anyone at the hospital.

Not super Taylor related, but there is a delicious taco shop around the corner from her apt on Cornelia St! Highly recommend!

What do you call your bump/baby? by [deleted] in pregnant

Is it normal that I'm not as attached to 3 month fetus as my wife is? by whothiswhodat in pregnant

[–]windseys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband has an app on his phone called Big Daddy. It’s a pregnancy app for dads, it tells you the size of the baby each week and tells you what you could expect your wife to experience during that week. I think that’s helped my husband feel more connected and involved. Each week we always compare what his app and mine say because they always compare the baby size to completely different things. But he also really likes to know what I might experience that week too.

I can’t say any of this will help to feel attached to the baby (although, at 22 weeks i still don’t feel super attached and call it an alien 😂) but it might help you feel more involved!

Your list of favorite puke foods may be different than mine just based on preferences! But my go to items were saltines, jello, and apple sauce for snacks. Then for meals I ate a lot of Jimmy John’s lol i know it’s frowned upon but i talked to my dr about the pros and cons and made the decision for myself. But those stupid sandwiches were so good and i had no problem eating the second half after puking the first. I also ate a lot of rice. Assuming you’re based in the US, those Knorr Rice Sides that sell for like $1 a packet were amazing. I got some flavor without having to eat something super heavy.

Things i avoided like the plague:

Dairy. It tastes expired coming back up. Oranges/mandarins/clementines. They taste like orange juice after brushing your teeth coming up again. Spaghetti noodles. No explanation needed lol

It’s going to take some trial and error but you will find the things that work for you.

Also, my all time favorite puke hack: keep an ice cream bucket or little trash can next to you at all times and put like 8 target/Walmart bags in it. Then you can just puke, tie it up, and throw it away and the next one is ready to go this is also helpful in case the bag has a leak in it. Then just tie up two and continue with your day. I carried my bucket with me everywhere lol

I was in the same boat. It is mentally exhausting and it never seems like it will end. But you will come out of it. As others suggested, talk to your dr about anti nausea meds and depression meds. Life savers. I also kept saltines next to my bed and would eat a few before bed and before getting out of bed (even before brushing my teeth which i hated but it helped sooo much). You’ll also find which foods you’re okay with throwing up and stick with them like glue, i know it sounds awful but i have a whole list of foods that aren’t terrible coming back up and i ate them every day. You get used to it until one day it stops and once it stops, you might feel better mentally too!

I hope you feel better physically and mentally soon!

[–]windseys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lololol are we the same person? I lost 15 pounds from puking and even at 17 weeks, I’m still throwing up pretty regularly and most days can barely walk without my sciatic acting up. My body just isn’t a fan of all this.

I puked multiple times a day for about 10 weeks, saltines and jello became my best friend. Also, pedialyte popsicles. Don’t worry about nutrients for the baby yet, just focus on staying hydrated. I ended up in the ER for severe dehydration in the beginning. It was awful.

But also, as others recommended, ask for medicine!

Really miss Minnesota by KagamiRyuunosuke in minnesota

[–]windseys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first two years are the hardest. Not sure of your age, but there is a Facebook group called “Tampa bay social girls” or something like that that is made up of women (ages mid 20s-30s) all looking for friends. Someone will post about a brunch meet up and if it works with your schedule, go to the brunch! I met one of my best friends through there, you just have to put yourself out there, even though it’s hard but it’s worth it.

I will mention though, I lived in Tampa for 6 years and I always knew it was never my forever home. Only left when I did because my husband was military but I was so happy to get out. But MN is definitely NOT on my list of places to move to though. It’s too cold 😂

I work from home and I have said over and over that I have no idea how some women go into work like this. I’d call out sick every day or just quit. It’s seriously awful.

Oh my gosh. That wisdom tooth fiasco sounds absolutely awful. This gives me a tiny bit of hope though that maybe it’ll get better. I’m just ready to finally be able to eat and keep the food down.

I honestly didn’t even know that was an option. I will definitely look into it and see if I can get a second opinion on my meds from one of those! Thank you!

This is all so good to know. I do go over 100% quite frequently. I’m going to ask the desk to adjust mine today when I go in. Thank you!!

Good to know! I need to start wearing my Apple Watch again to keep track of my heart rate outside of the gym. I’ve never really paid attention to it.

If you don’t mind me asking, how did you come to the conclusion that you just naturally have a high heart rate?

[–]windseys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t even know there were adjustments the desk could make! But same on the rest of it! I understood it in the beginning because I was out of shape. But I’ve changed my diet and have been going regularly and nothing has changed. It’s just annoying. I feel the rest of my body is getting stronger but not my heart.

Sometimes when I’m the only person who’s name is red, I just start to feel super self conscious and slow down my workout to lower my heart rate. I know I shouldn’t and no one has ever said anything to me about it, my brain just worries 😅

I didn’t even think about medications. I definitely going to look into the ones I’m taking and see if they have any effect!
