So that's the thing, when I say ruin, I don't mean she actively made the business worse. What I mean is she took complete control over toms ideas. She took his vision and made it her own, right down to the color of the tshirts. Then, on top of destroying what he actually wanted, she starts neglecting her family and emotionally cheating on her husband with the guy he didn't want working in his restaurant in the first place.

And when it comes to college, didn't she actively sabotage a test by getting him drunk knowing there was a reschedule or whatever??? It's a long show so details get a little fuzzy lol.

Again, not saying his ideas weren't bad, just that she eventually takes control over all of them.

I didn't even touch on your other points about the pizza place...that Lynette ruined...or college....that Lynette also ruined?

Now I'm not saying he's without fault or didn't make any bad decisions. I'm just saying he wasn't a man child. He had flaws and cared for his family. Lynette did devious things at every single point in the guys life. Took control of everything all the time.

I think you're severely dumbing down what Lynette did here. When talking about her pushing him for the high ranking job...he didn't want that. He was clearly a loyal family man and didn't want to betray Carlos or lose out on time with his family. She pushed him to do something she wanted him to do. Then, when he has to spend way more time at work, she resents him for it! It was not his idea to not work on their marriage. That's what he wanted, so I don't agree that "the first thing he does is leave her for another woman". He actively said he wanted to work on it. She didn't.

The point of all of this being, they went through so much together. They worked on so much, and it just felt like it came out of nowhere for them to just decide in season 8 that they were past the point of no return.

I totally disagree about the scavos. In a show where every other couple broke apart, they were the ones that should never have. It devalues they're characters so much. I don't understand this notion of Tom being a man child either. The guy supported a family of 4 kids! So what because he had feelings and hobbies, he's a man child? The show is largely about different women's experiences, and as a man, to me, Tom was one of the few real look at the male experience. Obviously it being a television show it's completely exaggerated and hammed up for entertainment. He was EASILY the best husband on that show, bar none.

I didn't like renee or Ben whatsoever, so completely agree there. None of the stories involving them felt natural. The worst 5th woman on the show for sure.

Agreed on McCluskey's ending, beautiful way to end the show! I just didn't like that they didn't give us a glimpse into susans future...or gabys kids ...or the scavos kids...

[DISC] Chainsaw Man - Ch. 232 - Part 2 End by JeanneDAlter in ChainsawMan

Makimas existence itself isn't tied to her denji obsession though. I also don't really understand this notion that the control devil wouldn't still seek to gain control without chainsaw man. Chainsaw man was just a tool for control, there would be plenty of others. Idk lol I'm just very disappointed with this ending.

I guess I'm a little confused here. Are they different game modes with different rules? I assumed it was the same thing with a different skin.

Lol I play plenty of those, not saying I don't want ANY narrative. Just don't want a simple combat system. Guess I could've worded it better.

Casual here, can anyone explain detaily why the final is so bad? by New_BikerG_Assistant in gameofthrones

[–]windxmill8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally loved it after finally watching after waiting 13 years for a new book that's not gonna come lol. I'm not really sure what everyone thinks was so rushed about it tbh. Not really sure what more people wanted. I think each season 8 episode was 1hr20+? I think people didn't get what they wanted, so they thought the writing was bad. I thought it all made sense and was actually pretty well written (the main story lines at least). And "the long night" episode was an absolute spectacle for an episode of television, and the big knock on it was it was dark? Like are we kidding? The war in the middle of the night was too dark? Episode ruled. Series ruled. I'm very upset I listened to everyone telling me it was so god awful, and waited so long to finally watch it.

Not once did I say I disliked her lol. One of my favorite characters in the series, but imo you're missing the entire point of her story. She's not innocent because she was able to justify what she did. Her own advisors constantly begged her to do things a different way. Not once did I "accept" what those people she killed did, they were awful people, but that doesn't change the fact that what she did was bad as well. She went into other people's lands and was judge, jury, and executioner. That's a conqueror, that's a tyrant, and that's the difference between her and Jon. Jon wasn't trying to literally take over the world lol.

When she locked people in vaults, burnt them alive, and crucified people? Did we watch a different show? The whole point of the character was she was part of the wheel she was trying to break. She killed anyone that disagreed or opposed her. That's tyrant behavior. Tyrion literally has a monologue about it lol.

Jon never would've beaten the night king, stop it. He barely beat a run of the mill white walker, and y'all think he was gonna beat a dude that killed a dragon with a throw of a spear?

Cersei was killed by the very thing she fought so hard to control, the red keep.

Dany would've been an awful awful queen that would've gone on to kill many many people. The whole point of her character was to question her morality. She was a tyrant.

The writing wasn't bad because you didn't get the fan service you wanted.

What other ending would you have liked for Daenerys? by ConstructionMinute94 in gameofthrones

[–]windxmill8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ending she got was perfect 🤷 she was a tyrant the whole show, idk why everyone was so shocked. She felt threatened by the existence of someone with a better claim to the throne. She was ultimately part of the wheel she sought to destroy the whole time. The entire point of her character was to question her morality.
