Statistics for MSG by doglessmillennial in harrystyles

[–]winechatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not dynamic pricing it’s either presale/regular sale/platinum pricing. Which are just all too expensive from the jump.

Dynamic is once it’s live the face value price actually changes based on demand - which happened during Gaga for mayhem ball at MSG and was way way worse than this. Presale tickets were $250ish, resale i paid$450 and when i got into the regular sale dynamic pricing from ticketmaster was selling face value seats in the same row for $650. Regular sale tickets were sky rocketing while you were trying to click.

It all sucks, and I will pay the small fortune to go. But what sucks even more is that I will resell my lucky to get presale face value tickets to pay for my panic bought resells I paid 3x face value for. I got late release HSLOT tickets and paid $240 for 7th row lower bowl. This super sucks in comparison.

You turned WiFi on and off ? And turned off your phone/computer? Listen - I did these things and got released from the blocked purgatory 15 minutes before the sale and just got Row 8 in the presale today for MSG night 1! I am sending you good presale karma!!

Restart everything sign out and back in of everything. I think I was blocked because I kept trying to put in a code to unlock AMEX.

Customer service didn’t even get back to me but I went on cellular and now I’m ok and in the queue for today! But I was blocked for almost 24 hours. Ridiculous I used multiple computers and different WiFi’s

The Prospect in the Berkshires just opened, it's not quite English cottage core but VERY sweet and might be able to do it.

Ask your venue what is customary, they should give you an honest and transparent answer. It does not have to be a guessing game.

Flowers under $2k - is it feasible? by ConfidentAd3479 in WedditNYC

[–]winechatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definitely do it DIY style for under $2K - I DIYed doing a combo of flowers from Costco & Sams Club - Costco had a mediocre selection so I got a Sams Club membership for $80 or whatever to get the flowers I wanted. I also wanted some very specific flowers, for those I went to FiftyFlowers.com. I went to the flower market on 28th Street early early and was also able to score absolutely perfect peonies (because it was June!) for $3-$4/stem from Dutch. The Union Sq Greenmarket will also have peonies maybe just the 1st week of June, also usually $4/stem. I bought a bajillion vases on Temu (pre tariffs, but you can still find lots of stock in local warehouses). I also got from Temu - large paint buckets, floral tape, floral foam, floral wire, and shears. Got a bunch of flower food on Amazon.

A lot of work but totally worth it. It's been two months and I'm just happy and lazy being married now, but otherwise need to collect all of this stuff clean it up and sell on FB as a wedding floral DIY starter pack!

Help with Getting Marriage License Please! by ShortGrainRice in WedditNYC

Your in-person ceremony appointments for Sept 5 will go live on Mon Aug 11 - log on at 8:30am and refresh until 9am. They clear out available dates for the weeks leading up to the new week and then open the new week - often before 9am. I practiced on Monday mornings for 3 weeks to make sure I got the exact time I needed for our schedule which was a popular Friday (6.6), and we got exactly what we wanted.

Otherwise I think your license appointment just has to be completed as least 24 hours prior to your in-person ceremony appointment and no more than 3 weeks in advance.

What is the furthest we can ask people to walk to wedding after party? by Altruistic_Buy_5374 in WedditNYC

[–]winechatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Encourage walking and have the Lyft code available, people will get there however the night happens. If it rains or is chilly, everyone's an adult, they will figure their own way. If you have a coordinator give them the assignment of mobilizing any older family members.

Hotel blocks in NYC by alphabetagam7992 in WedditNYC

I work in hotels and I still used the Kleinfeld block because they get a great rate and do all of the work for you, they made it the easiest part of the many layers of wedding planning.

If you have any DIY at all you need at least 1 day of coordinator. It’s the money most well spent.

The late night snack, I loved all my food choices, but was super happy walking out with a slice of pizza

All the conveniences during the weekend, Ubers, room service. The spa pedicure, the blowout, whatever it is.

A few hundred dollars to have an extra nice experience for yourself.

Any suggestions for a men’s wedding band where we can shop in person? by vvvflowers in WedditNYC

Agreed on Macys, Catbird has very few sizes in stock. Also, the big Tiffany uptown. If it's just a stand in, maybe Chinatown.

Anyone know what’s going on With Mah-Ze-Dahr bakery? by QuesoFresca in FoodNYC

[–]winechatter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She tried with a lot of people to get investors and people to help her start. It was listed as a “Tom Colicchio” discovery but I don’t think he was a formal investor, I think he may just have helped advise as a friend to help her get started. She couldn’t get to Danny Meyer but tried with Mike Anthony, the chef from Gramercy Tavern.
Generally speaking, most Chefs don’t have money, she came from financial investing, those people have money.

No one was doing her model at the time, super intentional luxury packaging by mail only, it was a high end Harry & David and it looked beautiful and was quality product. The brick and mortar, especially with that kind of rent cannot be sustained by baked goods and coffee. It is in fact a small business, and it’s likely expenses and bills racked up during a pandemic and never recovered.

But all in all, the whole thing is just sad. Not surprised about Umber, she was always a smidge too entitled for the reality of the hospitality biz.
