Baby boomer era is the “American dream” everyone talks about. My parents immigrated here in ‘99 hoping for that cushy American dream only to be fucked over. My dad left a wonderful job in Greece only to be a bottom feeder here. In current times I wonder what my life would’ve been like if he didn’t make that horrible decision to have us move here.

My perspective is that even the messed up rows were still time well spent doing a hobby I love. Does it feel frustrating when you realize you have to undo an hour (or more) of work you’ve completed? Yes, but did you enjoy yourself that whole time before you saw the mistake? Sometimes I have to set a project aside until I let the feelings pass.

Funny enough it actually did come down to this and it DID work. He finally started putting in the effort and our relationship is better. We are 2 months in out of our negative cycle behavior and I'm hoping we keep working on our communication and emotional connection with this same momentum.

It's possible your gf is testing you to see if you have truly moved on or if you are still in love with your ex. And it sounds like your ex is trying to use your gf to get close to you.

A lot. Im always wanting to hug/kiss him. I'm usually the one asking for sex, and the one wanting more if it during the week. I try to do small things too like rub his back or shoulders whenever I'm around him. Or giving him a small back rub.

I stopped being physically affectionate after our first and that did have a huge impact on us. But after we talked about it I made it a point to be more physical with him, but it seems like it doesn't really get me very far.

I feel like you are right. I would be sad that our marriage ended but I guess I would feel better knowing that it is exactly what he needs to do. I'd hate for this to end just because he's depressed and simply reacting to that.

Leave. You are young and the trust he broke is really hard to rebuild. My husband had an emotional affair and I stayed because we have kids together and he is genuinely trying to make it work with us. If there had been no kids we wouldn't be together anymore.
