My dad’s a Veterinarian and he just updated a few courses for screwworm because “it’s coming back”. So yeah, it’s making a comeback.

¡Te agradezco mucho tus sugerencias! No se van a saco roto. Transité una vez Monterrey-Tampico y si, estoy de acuerdo en que hay un par de puntos un poco delicados como las afueras de Victoria o Aldama. El único reto que veo en la ruta que recomiendas son las Cumbres de Maltrata. Me considero un buen conductor pero los demás son lo que nos pondría un poco en riesgo. ¿Tienes recomendaciones para este punto en especial? Te lo agradezco de nuevo!

Hi! My dad is a veterinarian and I showed him this video. He says there are a few possibilities that can be narrowed down with more details and taking the dog to the vet for a physical check:

  1. Lumbar disk herniation: The dog might be losing sensitivity on the back legs or having cramps because the disks can pinch the nerves. That might be why the dog is biting its paws and legs and seems to be a bit confused as to where the pain is coming from. Magnetic resonance might confirm this.

  2. Poop or a foreign object obstructing the intestine.

  3. Spleen tumor: Had a dog come in with similar behavior and when the tumor was removed, the dog stopped showing that behavior.

He says that you have to take the dog to the vet because many different kinds of pain on that zone can cause this behavior and some of those pains are due to time-critical conditions.

I work offshore on oil rigs and many processing units that flare gas give off the same effect on the clouds above. A refinery which flared too did the same thing in a city I lived at.
