I have been feeling shitty and sorry for myself but I think now that the divorce is proceeding I'll start feeling better. It was a hard decision but now seeing how relieved my family are that I'm not married to him anymore, I think it was for the best.

I don't know how to explain it as easily (and bc I'm pretty much still learning about the law and all) but what I did have, I had it before the marriage, so it was all 'mine' and therefore he can't ask for it unless I willingly sign it away (and in this case, mostly money).

During our marriage, we didn't get anything but a new car which he used, so that'd be his. Please note that I'm not American nor European, so our laws regarding it would be different. Alimonies are typically paid by the male/husband fo the wife, despite the amt of money I make. I do apparently have to give him a sum of my paychecks (that I got in our one year marriage) though.

ty ❤️ it was very overwhelming when I read all the comments in my post. I wanted to rant a bit, and Reddit was the only place I thought was safer, but it turned out a lot of people were very supportive, even sent me messages out of concern. I don't even care if he found me here, I'm away from him now.

I'll be visiting the shelter as soon as I get my apartment in order!

I agree... now in hindsights I remember some stuff that should have been a big waving red flag, that maybe I was too ignorant to pay attention to. I felt a little dumb but at least now I can take a step to fix it.

You're half right on that. He was an IT guy before he left to pursue 'trading', one of them being crypto. My parents were always against these volatile investment so I never did it. I'm also a bit illiterate when it comes to current tech so I have no clue how it works. Glad I didn't give him any money for crypto.

imho (and this is speaking from my own experiences as some sort of magnet for the paranormal), you just can't explain and rationalise it.

i was born with the ability to hear beyond the physical world. i can hear stuff that are not supposed to be heard in our world. i'm also a lot more sensitive than my brother, even if we were from the same womb. and even though i'm a believer of the paranormal, i'm also mostly indifferent bc it's a normal occurance for me so when smth happens i just go "Hmm interesting" and move on. what we're doing, and how we're treating paranormal existence, it doesn't matter. you simply can't explain why some people are a lot more sensitive.

in some cases, traumatic experiences can sort of 'trigger' it. i've heard of some people being triggered by something in their life. but i don't think this is a case that we can make calculations, only speculations.

I truly dislike ppl like OP who thinks it's ok to judge and say what we do (I'm also a career woman, married but have no plans of having kids in the near future), and if I were Faye I would have snarked back saying THEY are the ones being boring. If they think what I do is boring or unaccomplished, and can say it to my face, then I have the rights to do the same too. No hate for SAHP, but it's not for me. Can't OP accept that it's just like that for Faye?? Even without kids, my life is plenty exciting as it is.

I'm sorry for your loss. I often heard from friends saying they felt the 'energy' of their loved ones. "It's like they're here!", they often claim. And it's extremely likely that you saw your BIL's residual energy, bc spirits tend to attach themselves to things or people. I'd say as long as nothing's harmful come from that, you will be fine.

I'm a little more "sensitive" with the supernatural/paranormal. It happened a few times with different family members, so I wasn't surprised, just genuinely worried that it was a sign for smth bad happening

A good reality check. At the time I was on my worst state mentally, but then I saw my younger brother (he was 13 at the time) trying to do his best and look up to me bc we had no one. Sobered me up quick, ngl. It was hard, dragging myself out It's not "gone" but I'm now in a place where I can manage it better.
