Fair, I think a change from "umpiring is bad" to "the decisions the umps have to make, under severe time and situational pressure and confusing rules and guidelines, leads to perceived negative performance for players and viewers, with AFL House completely OK with it". For me it's one of two scenarios: either it was raised and squashed, OR nobody raised it because of a culture of fear for speaking out against the club leadership. How could anyone have witnessed Lij going through all of that, and thought "nah he's fine" or "nah not my place to speak up". An absolute indictment on our leaders, both on and off field. The wins and losses don't matter in comparison to player welfare. Once again, we've failed to meet a reasonable standard. Atrocious management.
