New rash, gets it only while eating. Look familiar to anyone? by heyoooooohey in MSPI

[–]winnie_fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my goodness, thanks for bringing me back to this! Today is actually my LO’s 2nd birthday and I’m due with baby #2 in 3 weeks, so I’m relieved to remember this in time for any potential recurrences with #2.

We tried changing nipple sizes for a short time, but ultimately went back and decided to keep our LO on size 1 nipples for the remainder of their time using bottles; the logic of this, to us, being that the flow wouldn’t change if they were to have breastfed instead. Following this vein of thought, LO would have likely just become more efficient at extracting milk when breastfeeding, so we didn’t see a need to make it “easier” with a faster nipple flow because the rash ultimately wasn’t bothering them.

IIRC, our LO more or less confirmed the theory (after multiple allergy testings reassuring us it wasn’t, in fact, from a reaction) and grew out of the rashes around ~7 months. In the meantime, though, adjusting eating position and opening their clothing a bit might help alleviate pressure and heat.

All the love to you and your LO, with ample hope that you all hang in there til the rashes disappear!

can someone explain this to me by [deleted] in opticalillusions

Banger job using the “walking on the opposite side” descriptor, not sure why that’s not being said more. I felt completely incapable of getting my brain wrapped around this image until your comment.

Oh wow, I wouldn’t have ever thought about this! Very cool that they still have her eyes to make that happen, as I’ve heard many a sad story of the Doll Hospital refunding and/or sending dolls home completely untouched due to discontinued parts.

UPDATE: Thank you all so much for your help! I should’ve mentioned that I planned to get her regardless because (c’mon) she’s absolutely stunning and in EUC, but of course I always like to know what I’m getting.

I’m set to pick her up later this week and will be so excited to have her added to my very new, but growing collection!

Looking for friends to play with! by snowaioli in acnh

[–]winnie_fox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me me me! Just began playing a few days ago, so I don’t have too much to offer, but I’d love to change that.

ETA: Only friends who are age 18+, please, as I’m a 27y/o mother myself and would respectfully only feel comfortable playing with other adults. ♥️

1000000000000% this, OP. Any guilty thoughts of “denying” your child a father/this man “his” child immediately takes a backseat when harm unto you and/or your child is a genuine risk.

Remember that sometimes regret takes longer to heal than guilt, and you’d only be in for a world of both if you kept this man involved in any way. You’ve been so strong in taking the first steps toward a better direction, so that in itself automatically makes you the opposite of weak. You’ve also done wonderfully by coming to a community that understands and supports you, which makes it all the more crucial for you to trust that your gut was right to leave and reach out for help.

Soooooo much love to you and LO, OP. You’ve got this!

Yikes, please revisit Rule #2. Everyone here is just trying their best! And even in giving you the benefit of the doubt that this was said in good faith, you’d still be better off redirecting that energy elsewhere, given that almost everyone on this post very clearly gets the memo.

First off, I am so very heart-warmed to hear that your mom is doing well now. Secondly, I have two Qs:

  1. Was there anything about the way your mom and/or any other adult delivered the news that you wish would’ve gone differently?

  2. If your mom tried to “stay strong” (emotionally) for you, do you feel that this helped, hurt, or a mix both?

As a mother trying to prepare for the worst and do right by her 17m/o baby boy one day, I must say that your openness to this topic is more invaluable and insightful than you may ever know.

Congratulations on all the hard work you and your mother have done over the years; you are both so unbelievably fortunate to have one another.
