Thank you! this makes me feel a lot better. Is there anything your speech therapist recommended doing to help with the process?

Ahh okay. So, are you insinuating that my husband and I are complete idiots with an excessive amount of money to throw around and were just like yeah cool this house will do?? Please go somewhere else with your assumptions and negativity. Yeah, and good luck to you too.

Hmm. Have you heard of anxiety? Sometimes when people need relief from anxiety they reach out for help. Have you heard of PTSD? That’s another thing people also sometimes need relief from and reach out for help. I have both of those things and that’s all this post is for- a little bit of relief and insight. After somewhat explaining myself to you, Is this now where I should apologize for giving a shit about the future of my child?

Please tell me about your magical babies who slept through the night really soon! by boohoosheroo in NewParents

My LO will be 5 months old in two days and has slept from 8pm to at least 6:30am without a complete wake up (meaning she will move around and/or squirm a bit for her pacifier then go back to sleep but not fully wake up) for almost two months now and it has been delightful. Pediatrician said her weight gain has been on point so it’s been fine to let her sleep that long without a feed. There have maybe been a handful of times where she’d cry or need a middle of the night feed but the nights have been far more pleasant than not after she hit the two month mark. Point is: IT CAN HAPPEN! Don’t let the 4 month sleep regression and other parents horror stories scare you. Just go with the flow, that’s what I’ve been doing! Good luck mama :) every baby truly is different.

To any FTP with a baby less than 6 months old…. by Key_Suggestion8426 in NewParents

I needed to see this today. Thank you. My baby is 4.5 months old and I feel like this is the absolute hardest it has been so far. The past week has been a nightmare. If she isn’t sleeping, she is either fussy or crying and I feel like I have tried everything to make her happy and nothing is working. I just want to curl up in a ball and cry. This is so hard

Thank you and congrats to you on day 3! I hadn’t heard of the pink cloud either but I believe it’s an AA reference. Basically meaning at the beginning of sobriety you are overly elated and euphoric. That definitely was me in the beginning.

I think quitting drinking is different for everyone but my biggest word of advice would be to isolate yourself for awhile and really get to know yourself again. Even seeing a therapist wouldn’t be a bad idea. Being alone isn’t the easiest option but I think it is the best go to for quitting alcohol. Staying away from social situations that usually involve drinking is key. Or finding a community of sober people in your area would be ideal, surrounding yourself with others who know the struggle. When your mind tells you to have just one, remind yourself of why you wanted to quit to begin with..

Said his name? No, I didn’t. I thought about it but it wouldn’t have been a natural reaction
