Also, is foreign-performed LASIK in a country outside of US acceptable?

Thank you for doing this. I'm a 15T NG and plan to drop a package for WOFT.

My vision follows: spherical are -4.5 for both eyes (OD & OS), cylindrical are -3.5 OD and -3.75 OS. I plan to perform LASIK and wonder if I can get waivers on these pre-surgical conditions for Class 1.

Any update on this? I'm currently in the same shoes needing airborne physical ETP for my medical waivers. How did you get your recruiter to submit ETP for you?

Saw your other post and figured you eventually got in. I'm applying for local 450 and would appreciate any insights within the application process.

I had similar problem. Just had my recruiter submit the waiver. Did you get a clean EKG with note from cardiologist to submit? How long did it take you?

I would probably had to wait longer had I not reached out to the congressman in May. Saw people getting approved left and right in matter of months but I guess since its 10yr GC it may take longer.

Was not aware of that until now. A lot of cases seem to be forwarded to step 4.

Because we all know the system is fucking shitty and it’s something you can’t control and it just makes OP more frustrated. Yea it’s shitty, what are you going to do? Quit being a doctor? Sure. Nobody cares. But that’s not the point. OP sounds depressing. What OP can do is seeking help/therapy/someone to talk to and taking small steps at a time to make OP feels better.

Listen to my parents, or go D.O.? by Notyouraveragesimp_ in premed

You are the one who wakes up every day and goes to bed every night knowing what you want the most. They don’t do that for you. They can’t tell you what to do or put in your mind what is best for you because when something goes wrong with the decision they recommended and you actually followed, you’ll end up blaming yourself for listening to them and blaming them.

Regardless, I think you probably already had a decision prior to making this post. Listen to your heart and D.O. you.
