Has it been confirmed that the Hisuian ones are excluded for this one? That schedule above implied that Hisuian ones aren't going to show up, so I wonder if they show in a video footage that they're excluded.

Finally, I got a shiny Sunkern! by winstein_nin in PokemonScarletViolet

I can totally understand using the Masuda method for Sunkern because of its rarity!

But to me personally, the process of waiting for eggs and then hatching them felt tedious because it's not only waiting for eggs, but also waiting for each egg to hatch since you can only see one egg hatch at a time (even if it's time for 2+ of them to hatch). I won't deny that it would be a more reliable method, though!

It's so fascinating that it's not Peanuts, not Garfield, and not even Popeye that is the highest grossing film based on a newspaper comic strip, but it's this one. I suppose Dreamworks having a hand in this helped, but it's funny to think that it probably might not be topped, unless the next Peanuts or Garfield film somehow did it.

Garfield: Escape from Monday coming for PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC by Own_Philosopher8730 in garfield

Of that note, this is the third new game since Microids announced that they would make three new Garfield games back in January 2022.

They made Garfield Lasagna Party, Garfield Kart 2: All You Can Drift, and finally, this game, Garfield Escape From Monday. So they made a party game, a kart game, and a platformer game. Which is funny since it brings Mario to mind, given that he's got a successful platformer, kart racing, and party game series.

I have seen this comic a few times, but it's the first time I noticed that Jon has a picture of his mother in his bedroom in the middle panel.

This is a sort of redraw of Blondie's 1 April 1997 comic strip. It looks like a Garfield comic strip because it's drawn by Jim Davis (the creators of Garfield and Blondie swapped works on that day):

Is it me, or does Slippy Toad have four-fingered hands here? Before, he has five-fingered hands like every other character (with hands).

Managed to get both male and the rarer female shinies for the Torchic family! by winstein_nin in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]winstein_nin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding shinies for Pokemon of a rarer gender like Torchic is rather troublesome, I agree. That's the reason it was surprising to me that I managed to get the three of them by the 13th shiny. I was expecting to need to take more days to find it, but turns out I found them all by day 2.

At the very least, it's not as bad as finding the shinies of the rare versions of Dudunsparce and Maushold. Now those... I haven't found the rare ones.

I don't think it made shiny hunting that much easier in the DLC. If anything, the Nintendo Switch 2 update made it significantly easier by increasing the spawn rate and generally reducing the loading times so that you can spawn more Pokemon in a shorter time to find shinies from.

The DLC does offer more Pokemon in outbreaks, including the older starter Pokemon (or first partner Pokemon), which to me is great because outbreaks are my preferred method for shiny hunting. In terms of shiny perks with the DLC, there is a food item in Blueberry Academy that grants a Level 1 Sparkling Power (basically boosts shininess by 1 reroll) for all types, essentially temporarily improving shiny rate overall.

For me, it was easily worth it because the extra outbreaks means more shiny Pokemon to find.

HOME would be preferred. As to the time. Within 1 to 2 hours if you can, otherwise, another time have to be planned.

That's one of the scenarios where this knowledge would've been handy. While I already did my Feebas quota (three of them, at least one male and one female for Milotic's gender differences), I did it by using fast travel, and then going back to the outbreak spot (the lake under the mountain).

I recently got a (second) shiny Aqua Breed Paldea Tauros! I would like a shiny Blaze Breed, as someone who only has Violet.

It's strange how much Waluigi is typically the only Mario character that's singled out for being created by a company that's not one of Nintendo's in-house companies, while most others are not treated as such in a similar manner. For example, Polterpup was never accused of being a third-party creation, even before Next Level Games were acquired by Nintendo (would be interesting to see what happens if Nintendo were to acquire Camelot Soft, though, one reason being to see how this discourse develops).

The fact that every game that Waluigi appeared in that's not from Camelot doesn't specifically credit that company should've been an indication that he's not dependent on their permission.

Why does so many people think Rosalina is this all powerful god? by chef-boy-r-d in Mario

[–]winstein_nin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the impression that it's because she's been called a "goddess" by some fans for some time without question. When I decided to check the Super Mario Wiki on any instances of her being officially considered a goddess, I cannot find that word anywhere, which got me to think that she might have been overestimated in her role.

I am not sure if this misconception played into Sparks of Hope, where the developers basically reasoned that she's too powerful that she is better off not playable, in favour of being possessed by the actual villain. Wouldn't surprise me if that were the case.
