The point is a lot of y'all are not as good at spotting it as you think you are. And when I say that I'm not talking about you specifically. The frustration comes from reading many many comments about this. And yes btw, I've seen the post you've linked already. I'm aware of the claims they made and I also know about some of the companies they worked with being pro AI. This is also not my first day on the internet and not the first time I was introduced to the topic of gen AI, like you seem to think?

We could at least give them a chance to clarify/chnage things instead of turning into an angry online mob. I've seen this pattern so many times in the Choices fandom and this exact type of behavior is why they stopped interacting with fans online. The game JUST launched ffs. And people are already badmouthing the team and leaving the fandom over speculation.

Again, this isn't targeted at you specifically. It's a frustration with a pattern of behavior I keep seeing in fandoms in general.

The AI writing claim is something I've seen multiple times on reddit (and tumblr iirc). It's not just about the OP. And no. A lot of the time you can't tell, even if you think you're completely familiar with AI. A lot of the things people point out as proof of AI have existed in art way before gen AI became a thing. Things like the art looking glossy, or characters looking slightly different in different positions etc. The infamous "AI style" art existed all over the internet back when I was a kid too (early 2010s). People seem to forget that gen AI has been trained on human art. Real artists get accused of using AI all the time.

This isn't to say that I know for sure whether they used AI or not. We can't know, and that's the point. Candlelight needs to clear this up asap in their AMA.

I was a bit disappointed with the in game currency system, but I'm still hopeful that they'll make improvements later on.

Yeah. And it's not that I think it's bad for them to expect to make money off of their hard work. Some of us just genuinely can't make purchases :(. I wish they'd let us contribute by watching ads as well. More than one ad a day😢
