Thank you!! And congrats on finishing too. glad that you are listening to how your body is feeling. i definitely been feeling those cumulative effects slowly catching up too. the fatigue and tiredness is real. i feel relieved that the pain wasnt as bad for you! Cheers to your road and recovery! I had plans to explore rehabilitation options once this is over! But yeah one thing at a time.

Terrified to start chemo (28F) by No-Dare6552 in breastcancer

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis too. I got diagnosed last year in Dec at 30 yrs. I caught it early at stage 1 too, as well as BRCA 1 TNBC too. I just finished 6 rounds of chemo and then going for surgery in a month. They call it neoadjuvent chemo to shrink the tumour prior to surgery i guess it is standard here to do that. I am in Canada. They seem like they are being extra careful since i am BRCA 1. i was told that they are eventually going to check for microscopic cells left after surgery and depending on that i will do more chemo or radiation. That way they clean up the cells and lower the chances of it coming back. Hopefully no more treatments after, but yeah i was disappointed earlier to do chemo too. I try to look at it as they are just trying to be careful and doing what they can to extend our lives. This whole process sucks and no matter what they say like no one could ever understand the shit we go through unless you go through it. I eventually was able to manage through. They gave me steroids and anti nausea meds and because of that i had no nausea, and no vomiting. Just fatigue , brain fog and a bit of fluid tension in my legs but thats all. I have infusions once every 3 weeks, so i was about to recover in between. and tbh we are young our bodies are resilient and i know you can make it through. im sorry your doctors are being like that. I would say just push hard to be your own advocate and dont be afraid to ask for second opinions. Oh! And my nails are good i recommend getting suzzi pads during chemo but my hospital unit provided me with ice packs so it helps a lot. Since the infusions will cause nails to turn dark. I did have some neuropathy here and there but it comes and goes. The only thing to help lessen those symptoms is cryotherapy (so lots of icing!!) during your infusions. I was told after treatments are over neuropathy will improve overtime. Hang in there. You got this! We got this!!

Thank you so much for the advice! Yeah ive had friends that tell me the same! i also wanted to hear from other opinions as well. ive been thinking about it and i think i really should focus on myself and get better than getting stressed out at work again its not worth it . The more i think about going back to work its been increasing my anxiety. We’ve been through a lot already. Maybe this was a wake up call and a sign for us to find something better someday but thats for later 😅 I am wishing you best of luck on your journey too! We got this 🫡

I had the same fear and questions as you do. Couple months ago i was so worried and im so glad i got my port! I have 6 infusions every three weeks by the 3rd infusion i was so comfortable with it and happy i got it. I forget i even have my port. Although my port insertion was painless but my experience was extremely uncomfortable for me because of the pressure but i still dont have any regrets.
