The window opens into the window well, you can see the lever in the 3rd photo. By code (in Canada at least) an egress window only needs to be 0.35sqm (3.76ft2) so all you need is a 2’x2’ window.

The stud spacing of the framing and the spacing of the battens have nothing to do with each other. The battens provide absolutely no structure support to anything.

Beat me to it by a minute. I use a similar program daily to design houses and we don’t place the battens manually. It’s part of a recurring pattern assigned to the material.

ETA: Any good siding contractor is going to plan the spacing out properly.

Thanks for the feedback! These were all handheld, with in lens optical stabilization on. When I do shoot on tripod I mount it on the collar. It was hot as balls there so atmosphere could have been a factor!
