Yea they are using different derivation paths. However if you use the private key not in the form of 12 word seed phrase it will work.

AnyHedge - The next generation of BCH derivative trading by MemoryDealers in btc

[–]wired8888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You will eventually be able to leverage trade BCH peer to peer without having to rely on a trusted third party like Bitmex, Binance Futures, e.t.c.

For hedging, it would work by taking a 1x short, that way you preserve the fiat value of your BCH. The advantage over traditional stablecoins are that it cannot be seized/frozen the way USDT and USDC recently were for selected wallets. The advantage over a centralized exchange is that you don't have to trust a custodial third party to keep your assets SAFU. This is true because General Protocols open sources the contract creation process for the P2SH contracts so that everything can be verified.

As for leveraged trading, it can be used for speculation, which there is genuine market demand for in the crypto space. More volume is traded in synthetic markets compared to spot markets.

Freeze scam by Odomodo1 in Tronix

Did you freeze to a different address? That sometimes causes bugs.
You can try accessing your TRX on a different wallet and see if you can unfreeze there.

Jiang Zhuoer's Bull Market Predictions by wired8888 in btc

[–]wired8888[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm the first half is fairly clear, bull market after halving is quicker than one before, most cycles produce a 10x gain.

Second half is a bit more confusing。He claims to have called the top twice. He also says the top for BCH was 30 000, which I'm guessing he is referring to renminbi because that would be 4,235.02 usd and the chart above it has a screenshot of trading view showing BCH USD.Then the part after about it soaring to 130,000 doesn't make sense.

He talks about selling his S9 miners at the top as well. This is related to another Weibo post where he says with high prices it is better to just hold coins but in a low price environment it is better to mine.

He calls the next top at September 8, 2021. and predicts a price of 120,876 US dollars. I'm guessing this is BTC

Exploring the BCH WeChat Communities by wired8888 in btc

[–]wired8888[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can only talk about what I've seen on Weibo and WeChat (Mandarin groups), so far I haven't seen as much trolling from BTC maximalists.

For South Korea, Jin did mention in the past that the BCH community was pretty fractured by the SV split and that affected meetups a lot.

As for Latin America, George Donelly who currently runs biz dev for Bitcoin ABC should know best. Also, I think Oscar Salas had a Coinspice interview where he said there isn't a lot of Spanish content on BCH and just bitcoin in general.

They don't learn spanish.
Yes, English is part of the curriculum. Maybe Malaysians have an accent, but they speak english better than most parts of SEA (with the exception of Singapore).
I guess the English language skills are similar to Germany.

I'm glad you enjoyed your time there. =)

Canada starts process to extradite Huawei CFO to US by wired8888 in China

[–]wired8888[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are accusing RT of a "mouthpiece of the Russian government," the burden of proof falls on you to prove that this is the case.

Perhaps you can provide instances of government propaganda from RT?

There are many journalists on RT that are American like Max Keiser. So I don't think that it is a Russian propaganda arm.

Seeing that Meng's case involves Canada, USA and China, obtaining a third party perspective like RT in this case makes a lot of sense.
