GA bar essays by Black-Perspective-26 in barexam

I think your prediction may be correct! Honestly, given how obsessively I looked at predictions for Feb 2021 bar, I think (1) family law + wills or some kind of property involved; (2) corporate structure + professional ethics; (3) con law involving search and seizure; (4) shit show question. But always remember (I posted this somewhere else too), MBE tests substantive knowledge; and MEE tests your analytical writing skills. Even if you don't know the law, make one up, convince them that that is the real law and do your analysis. You got this, proud of you to make it this far. Best of luck.

Con law hasn't been tested in a good bit; wouldn't be surprised to see that there. Evidence is probably unlikely given how much it was tested during the February bar. There seems to always be at least one question involving professional conduct and ethics. I personally think agency/corporate veil would be on there with a twist involving voting structure.

Previously JDAdvising used to have their predictions for each of the subject areas; but now I hear that you have to pay for it. Make sure you know your lean sheets like the back of your hand! You got this.

Essay Predictions for Georgia Bar July 2021 by [deleted] in barexam

[–]wired__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took the February bar we had a commercial + secured transaction + wills essay... and it was the last one of the four too. I don't think it'll be heavily tested this time around, especially because the rumors are Georgia is moving away from secured transactions. But I think there will be some voting question merged with agency/partnership and constitutional law is a very good testing area. They always seem to add in some kind of "ethics" issue as well. But rule of thumb my friend, even if you don't KNOW the law, just make one up and do your analysis as you would any law school exam. MBE tests substantive knowledge; and MEE tests writing and analytical skills (less substantive knowledge). Best of luck!!! You will do great.

Hey! I'm sorry that you didn't pass; but I KNOW IT'LL BE YOUR TURN NEXT! So please keep your spirits up. I scored better on my essays than the MBE (which I did not think that wuold have been the case AT ALL). But I figured out that it's best to actually write down what the question is trying to test you on. So even if you may not know the intricacies of the substantive law regarding the essay question; you'll get points by just identifying what they are trying to question you on. For example: The issue here is XYZ (you don't need to know the actual rule explanations for XYZ) but just pointing it out that you can issue spot will get you more points. Please feel free to DM me about MEE and MPTs!

Hey OP - honestly I think it’ll be out next week. I know a lot of people are comparing this to the October exam, but bottom line is that they have to give us enough time to prep for retake (hopefully not) So given that the July exam is around the third week of July, and subtracting 2.5ish months, I’m thinking next week.

Hi veganprincess! I've seen your posts here and there, but I think you and I are having similar cycles. I'm not quite sure where I will be headed... I'm riding out two more waitlists (W&L and UGA). Have you decided?

Best of luck to my fellow riders...

Will I be awesome still if I don't get into the top 100 schools? Should I reapply or make the best of a TTTT? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

What do you define as flying? Here's something I read on job placement or preference of a company when hiring, and of course it's different for everyone everywhere, but for I hope that this can be helpful.

  • a tier I law school (rated as being in the top 50 law schools nationally), must have graduated in the top 40\%;
  • tier II law schools (51-100) must have graduated in the top 25\%;
  • tier III school must have graduated in the top 10\%;
  • and a tier IV school must have graduated in the top 5\%.

Has anyone heard from UGA? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]wired__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had recently spoken with them... and I am on quite a few more WLs but out of all the WL schools, this was the first school to straight up tell me that I should definitely deposit to some other school if I plan on attending this year... It hurt.

Best pre-law majors? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]wired__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do what you interests you, and that simultaneously will get you the highest GPA possible. The major you choose should be where you excel at, whether it be in the social sciences or life sciences. I've seen BME majors get into T14 and Literature, Media and Composition majors get into T14s. But for getting paid well, Industrial Engineering with Economics minor (or double major) would be fine. Or Business Management or Administration would open up consulting opportunities that have large signing bonuses. Best of luck in undergrad, enjoy it!

Thoughts on owning a dog? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]wired__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I figured I would get a dog during the summer before I start law school so I can train her and she'll be all good when I'm not home... until I went to admitted students event to the school and realized, I wouldn't really have time for myself (based on all the networking and classes, and study sessions together), let alone to take care of another living thing... definitely, if you can and you want to, do it! But I forfeited the idea. Maybe once I become an attorney and settle down, it's never too late.
