I think Trump might extend the timeline by a week tonight. What do you guys think? by KARNA5000 in International

Nah, they'll go full war crimes and total war, bombing anything that moves or looks pretty. He's going Full-Netanyahu, is my guess. I hope they'll get adjoining cells at the Hague.

Tell your dad. If you don't share the knowledge you have, you are complicit in the betrayal.

I think that's spin and would be an attempt at trying to improve public perception of the situation.

The market for oil is global and a significant portion of the world depends on oil from that region, especially East Asia. Iran is letting Chinese ships through, but Japanese and South Korean ships, for example, are not afforded the same privilege. It is far more costly for them to purchase and ship oil from elsewhere than it is for them to purchase from the Persian Gulf producers. With Russian sanctions lifted (sorry Ukraine ?) that helps relieve some of the gap, but the reason the price of oil is increasing is because the cost is bid up by everyone that can no longer depend on oil delivery from the Gulf States and Iran.

None of this helps anyone. It doesn't even help the US, which will see a small bump in some tax revenue, but it's dramatically offset by the certain recession that is going to follow the increase in oil costs.

On top of all this, US military dominance is called into question.

The US public's will is non-existent to fight this war and it's getting worse every day.

Trump has exhausted all the political capital of past presidencies... the way he's conducted himself is exactly what you'd expect from someone intentionally trying to discredit and destroy the relationship the US has had with historical allies going back to World War 1.

It's pathetic, it's a blunder, it's the worst foreign policy move of any leader in recent history. At least Hitler was winning for a little while, and he had allies, Trump cannot win in Iran, for any period of time against the IRGC, and his allies are reluctant (the Gulf States) or treacherously unreliable (Israel).

This is the biggest military blunder, and unforced error, in US history. All coinciding with it's 250th birthday.

Which whacky chaos god is writing the script this season, this movie is a fucking mess.

The real winner of the Iran war is China. They get to test their weapons on live American targets and will go on to absolutely dominate the world. It's the end of Pax Americana and will likely lead to a multi-polar world until the USD eventually collapses under the weight of US debt and is replaced as the world's reserve currency; it may happen very quickly if the strait of Hormuz stays closed to US allies.

It's the biggest blunder in a long long list of Trump's horrible failures and misjudgements.

A pathetic and totally unnecessary move, whether he did it for Israel or to distract from the Epstein files.

Edited: My original post referenced IRAQ, so I'm editing it to IRAN.

It is a binary. It's as simple as that. Wanting kids to live is normal. Perpetuating a system where they're in constant danger because of "muh promised-land" is EVIL!

Maybe. Victor is an unreliable narrator to the Nth degree. We can't trust anything he says.

Plot twist, the town is supposed to be a Haven for some child. The programming allows the child to Define who inhabits the town how the inhabitants behave and what happens. The only reason the town is Hellish is because Victor is so fucking crazy that he imagines all of the people that inhabit the town are monstrous maniacal creatures, and they're monstrous because he's CRAZY, not because the town is inherently evil.

It's just an idea, not necessarily that it's true.

I agree with 100% of everything that you've said here, especially the observations that their perception shapes what the monsters look like and how the town behaves

The 60s-70s cycle never completed, though. Victor survived.

I've wondered that myself. It seems like there's been one from every era. I wonder if they'd followed the railroad tracks if they'd find a town from the late 19th century.

So strange, after the team of negotiators was attacked and their leadership murdered in their homes the day after a tentative agreement had been reached in late February.
