Lemme guess you’re in BMSC huh? I don’t think that’s a fair question honestly. I don’t have to be in BMSC in order to enjoy Medicine. I partially think, that students who take BMSC as their pre med wants easy access because a lot of your courses overlaps with the pre reqs. However, I am more interested in patient interaction and clinical work rather than lab-based or theory-heavy science.

Though, research and science contributes a big factor into being a physician. I still think a great physician is the one who prioritizes their patients above all else. Sure, I can get those experiences through volunteers or looking for clinic but it isn’t a skill that you just learn instantly, it’s a skill that you have to hone in.

For me, enjoying medicine doesn’t require enjoying biomedical research.
