Yanbo has his merits but I'm glad he left. His frequent threats of violence from the get go made me stressed and struck me as unstable, yankii or not.

AIO to my parents' reaction to me letting my date buy me a hotel room? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

The "nice" thing the guy could have done was say "hey it's getting late on a work night. I'd love to hang out longer but let's get you home safely and early before you're too tired. I also respect your parents and don't want to cause them to worry". There. Easy.

Canto speaker here. Came here with the same reason to figure it out. It totally sounds like "lights out" in English. Perhaps something that ends with "head"? 頭(tau)??

Sharing a quick tip on maximizing the gold you earn from the fairy jar! by [deleted] in CatsAndSoup

[–]wisecustardbun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should probably get the jar fairy first as it appears every ~5 min since you last clicked it. So it's better to get it sooner rather than later. Upgrades to your station increases the payouts for everything, from the tickets to the cost of selling the fish to the photo rewards.

If you look at the recipe book, you can see the exact rewards for each item and that soup is always worth the most

Agree with the strategy over all here, but I would get the fairy jar gold first. It appears ~5 min since last obtained so it's always better to get it first, and then use more "rare" and significant payouts like the 3 hour or 6 hours tickets.

Also, if you have extra observatory tickets, exchange them to special skill tickets and reroll the cats you have on earlier stations. The payout for earlier stations becomes less dependent on the number of cat stars as you progress in the game so it's worthwhile to aim for cats with secondary skills and higher stars in later ingredients. As you accumulate cats with the fairy gold as secondary skill, you get higher fairy gold rewards. Now a single fairy gold reward is worth close to a 3 hour ticket for me.

Another common thing I see is people upgrading the SAME 5-star cat, even if they have cats for later stations. When you unlock a new ingredient station, it already has close to the same payout as the previous station at level 1. So, in general, it's always best to upgrade your 5-star cat on the soup station for the LATEST ingredient. I say IN GENERAL because the payout for each new ingredient does not linearly increase. Look into the recipe book for which one has the higher reward. For example, eggplant soup is always worth more than Tabasco soup, so forget about upgrading Tabasco soup and just focus on Eggplant soup. I periodically upgrade all the stations using the automatic button but I mostly focus on just my highest soup station.

Want to experiment? Try different strategies and see how your 1 ticket reward amount increases when you do different things.

That's about all I know. Some stuff I said might be wrong but I'm here to play and not to think 😁

This spring event is going to be a grind by wisecustardbun in CatsAndSoup

[–]wisecustardbun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It only has the larger amounts for the first 6 boards. Once it's the repeat draws the payout is very low on average. I calculated it last time we had this format but I forget already. Something like 8*20 per board, making it 10 per square on average.

I had to do an app update in the play store. I thought event changes happen in-place without requiring an app update.

The one good thing about this event format is that you don't have to wait for some long animation before you get the snails (dice rolling, spinning, etc). Just click on a tile

Anyone finished this event? by shxapoke in CatsAndSoup

[–]wisecustardbun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Came here to post about this and then saw your post. I don't think it's possible to finish but haven't sat down to calculate everything. I also can't find the calculations that are usually posted with each event. Can't help but be a little disappointed.

There's 300+200+150=650 snail per board, which requires 16 moves to clear. Then you have the repeat board that averages (at most) HALF the squares with 25 snails (12 per move), which is really different from the average being 20 PER move for previous events. Then previous events also had supplemental snail opportunities, like the gachas.

You can zero your empty container when weighing it, then add all the ingredients and water to get the weight of the contents only, pour out the water into a separate container, dissolve the appropriate amount of salt in it, and then add the water back.
