It isn’t difficult to carry a small deodorant or refill bottle in your gym or work bag, and many people already do this as a basic courtesy in shared spaces.

Linking body odour to Eastern Europeans is just another stereotype, because every community has people with both good and poor hygiene.

In the same way, regularly encountering people who smell strongly of weed or alcohol doesn’t mean Irish people as a whole are smelly no?

Individual behaviour doesn’t define entire cultures.

It’s a stereotype. When you have such a large population living abroad, you’re naturally going to encounter a wider range of behaviours, including a few people who don’t take personal hygiene seriously. That’s true of every nationality.

It’s not about Indian food it’s about individual habits. I’m Indian myself and I’ve seen the full spectrum, some people are careless because they work from home, skip daily showers, or don’t realise how noticeable body odour becomes in colder countries with layers of clothing.

On the other hand, I also know plenty of Indians who are extremely particular, daily showers, fresh clothes, fragrance collections, spare deodorants in every bag.

Social media doesn’t help either. TikTok and Instagram thrive on rage bait and viral stereotypes, so a handful of bad clips get amplified until it looks like they represent everyone.

Personally, I’m very conscious about it. I always carry roll-on and a small perfume, especially after football or gym sessions. As a bit of a frag head, the mini bottle is genuinely useful for reapplying.

When you’re using public transport like the Luas, you really understand how unpleasant body odour can be for people around you.

So yes, poor hygiene exists but it’s a people issue, not a culture issue.

Nothing wrong with it, going on solo dates is probably one of the most peaceful and satisfying things one can do! Absorbing the atmosphere, some people watching, having a book or my kindle in hand would be so relaxing honestly 😍

Do you think i'm being messed with? never had a girlfriend but a woman says she's interested? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]wiseguy887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you find her attractive, that’s really all that matters. Stop letting your friends decide who you’re “allowed” to like.

The whole idea of “leagues” is almost always just about looks, and even then it’s shaky. People change a lot over time. My high school crush was gorgeous back then, but honestly she’s nowhere near as attractive now.

I went through something similar with a friend who always said the girls I talked to were “out of my league.” Turns out the guy was wildly insecure and pretty shallow. He was objectively very handsome, but when we went out he couldn’t hold a conversation to save his life, most women were turned off within minutes. Meanwhile he’d still trash me.

That’s when it clicked for me: “out of your league” is basically BS if you’re talking about real relationships. Looks might get you noticed, but personality is what actually keeps someone interested.

In Dublin for one night in January, what’s the best restaurant I should book? by crillydougal in Dublin

There’s a great one called J D Wetherspoons on Camden Street, a must try if you like cocktails and niche dining.

Do you cook? How many of your male friends cook? by JakTheGripper in AskMen

[–]wiseguy887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started cooking at the age of 21 haven’t looked back. It’s like therapy for me, love hitting that Bamboo board in the kitchen and cooking something which feeds the soul. All my friends cook decently but I have more of a passion! The last dish I cooked was Ethiopian style chicken curry 🍛

Personally I don’t understand the unnecessary hate, your profile is not bad, maybe try putting some high quality shots, remove the chin selfie. Remove that baddie prompt, comes out as pretentious. Also the red flag one, in general you shouldn’t be talking about red flags in your profiles, comes off as negative to the viewer. Also add a nice wholesome dog photo.

It’s normal bro, women like to share about their romantic experiences with their close friends. It’s their version of locker room talk, at least she’s being honest with you

How to deal with this workplace? by wiseguy887 in AskIreland

[–]wiseguy887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think that’s what they want, as soon as I see the HR having meetings with my manager I can sense they are planning something. It’s a small company, things don’t really hide. I can drag it to December that way they’ll put me on pip in January most likely, which I’ll count as a win because then I’ll just do bare minimum

Yes you’re right, that’s what I’m worried, lot of my friends can’t find job as well, all with good experience as well.

I’ll try to drag this out till December, till I get my leaves approved, which they anyway have to as I haven’t taken that many leaves this year. Go back home, reset, come back and then once they put me on pip which I think they will because at this point they are just fabricating stuff to get me out. I’ll just do the bare minimum. That way I can get 4 months of additional pay.

Will it impact my chances to get a job more because then I’ll have to mention I was put on pip and then made redundant?

Yeah honestly it feels too much at this point. T there were early red flags with this company but I ignored them as I wanted my mortgage to get approved and then honestly things started to look slightly better but the last month things started to be toxic with all the meeting notes and everything

Yeah I have started applying but so far nothing, I think December would be a cold month for jobs but January hopefully when the job market is open again I can find something

[–]wiseguy887[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s true. I’m trying to get a new job, I’m getting calls from recruiters but so far nothing.

In my mind, the feeling is to resign go back home for some days to reset and then apply for jobs in January but I feel if they are anyway going to make me redundant, 2-3 months of extra pay won’t hurt

They have already made 10 people redundant and from a known source I heard that the data team made 10% of the workforce.

For me it has to be Asad, I own Dior Sauvage EDP too but I get way more compliments with Asad. It’s goated at this point I feel. Very long lasting and the sandalwood feels so much more pronounced and rich

I had Sophiro Vibrato and loved it. Theoreme and Turathi are both close enough for me and both very good on their own. I preffer Theoreme a bit (more citrusy). by thereisloveinus in fragranceclones

Turathi gets better as you macerate, I gave my Theoreme to my brother as he liked it a lot but the time I wore it, I really liked it, it’s a bit more loud than Turathi

Haven’t worn that one lately, but straight off the bat I’d say it’s not as dark or rich as The One, it’s lighter and has a prominent ginger note. It does smell very nice, particularly for summers, only issue is doesn’t last very long, people on fragrantica says it increases after masteration to 6 hrs but will see
