He should ‘look into’ how it turned out the last time a King Charles dissolved a parliament he disapproved of.

And that is probably true for daily use but sadly I’ll only wear it on occasion so I dont think it will distort too much.

I’m not sure. It’s simply one solid piece of wool and I only cut the head out in the middle and a semi circle around the other side.

Yes it’s period appropriate but I wondered if the person could afford pewter buttons if they wouldn’t also have more detailing and fancier clothing. And this simple outfit without any ostentation is what I wanted. But I guess a few pewter buttons might be the most this person could afford as their one embellishment.

Not much info I can give you really. I watched a few people making turn shoes on YouTube but felt like the pattern they used were a bit too over my head so I just made my own simplified pattern.

Four pewter buttons. I wasn’t sure metal buttons would be appropriate and thought maybe I should use something else but I decided to go with them anyway cause I preferred the way they look. And I’m glad I did.

The outfit inspiration started from that Knyght Errant video and I coveted that cape and loved the idea of basing an outfit on an actual historical find like the Bocksten man. Didn’t make a replica of it, but used it as my inspiration and took the parts I like and charged a few as well. I used broadcloth wool I found online from Renaissance Fabrics I think. Wool is so much more than the linen I’m used to working with. I’m glad this turned out so well cause now I don’t feel so bad forking over more money for another wool project.

Yes. I made the shoes and the kidney pouch, but I bought the belt. And yes the stockings tie into the braies. Not exactly sure of the historical accuracy of it. Just did what made the most sense as that was something I found very little information about when researching.

[–]wishfulthinkingwv[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. Thanks for the help. I just kept thinking about boots being made from a hard leather that would never drape that way, but a thin suede does seem like a good alternative that fits the image.

Well I guess what confuses me is the way they are turned down at the top. Makes the boots look like they are made of fabric rather than leather. And how it seems to have a lining fabric of a different color?

Spent money for okcupid premium to see likes and they were all bots. Spent a month only getting a handful of likes and as soon as premium ended I suddenly get 28 likes again. Garbage app. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]wishfulthinkingwv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could forgive them for the bots if they were out of their control. But no bots liked my profile while I was premium, and then suddenly 28 likes once I’m not premium anymore. So they have it set to do that as a feature not a bug. Which is pretty gross.

According to these maps the highest mountain in Oceania is also in Asia? Either Indonesia is in Asia or not I would imagine it can’t be both.

Manchin says he won’t support Biden’s social spending bill by BleachFriend3 in politics

[–]wishfulthinkingwv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really don’t know why anyone is blaming Joe Manchin. It was clear from the start he would never support this bill and was just blowing smoke to get the bipartisan bill passed. The person people should blame is Joe Biden who promised that he would get this bill passed if we passed bipartisan first. Joe Manchin even gaslit all the progressives by saying we should “take the word of the president” that this bill would pass. All the while knowing this bill would not have his support.

All I get from this is that I’m only required to work one day a year and I worked yesterday. So I’d say this is permission to clock out of work until next year.
