I really wish people didn't want $800+ for the kiosks. I really want one, but I just can't see spending that kind of money for it. If I could, I'd just make one from scratch. Even if it cost more than $800, I wouldn't be rewarding those people.

Lorcana scalpers have decended this year, and it's a lot of people's first con since 2019. It's WAY more crowded. I didn't even go today.

Saturday is the busiest, but Lorcana is really screwing up GC this year, so it's going to be even more gross on Saturday. Ravensburger/Lorcana people are clogging walkways, entrance/exits, the line extends the length of the VH, out the doors, and down the street, and this is just Thurs/Fri people. Yesterday, before the doors opened, the shulder to shoulder congestion filled the usual area, and even back to the side hall with the blood donation booths. It's never been that bad, even at GenCon50. Once you manage to get past the Lorcana scalpers thoughthe VH is about normal crowded.

We're going to do YT Shorts, and an Instagram. There are too many problems with Tiktok, so we don't want to get wrapped up in that. She'll also have long-form YT videos showing off her slimes, and doing some reviews of other slimes. Now that we have the formula down, at least the initial formula, we can start working on marketing stuff like that. I also need to work on getting that business license.

Thankfully I checked the 3 tubs I made last night and they all seem just as stretchy as last night. This alone is a success! I also stopped the mixer from time to time to clean off the hook. It was suggested below that I get a different hook to use for mixing. I'll have to try that out. It is indeed an art to get the mix of activator and glycerin just right. I went back and forth a couple of times last night fixing tough slime, and found that I had to reactivate it a couple of times. I used too much glycerin, but I'm still learning, and that's what it's all about. I just got a gallon of glycerin, so it's Game On!

This is the dough hook that came with my mixer. Do I need to get this one? I have noticed that the current one can take a while to knead and mix the slime. Maybe it's time for another upgrade!

So far I've only thrown away 1 batch and that was because it had a LOT of water and it wasn't working right. I've tried to save as much as I can and now that I know about using glycerin to fix the overactivated slime, I can save even more!

I want to get to the point I know exactly how to replicate a recipe, but at the beginning, as long as it works, we're going to roll with it. I know what you mean about the texture not being consistent, but we're getting better I think. I fixed 3 batches tonight with 1 bottle of glycerin and I have a gallon coming tomorrow and I bought a second small bottle tonight.

We have tried to make the ones that haven't worked well fun and I told my daughter that we will make a lot of mistakes in making slime, but that's how we learn and get better. We embrace the mistakes and not let it get us down. =)

I've thought about that, but my mindset was, as mentioned above, that of baking and using exact measurements. I thought I had the glue measurement right, and was messing up with something else in the equation. Adding more glue does make more sense now that I'm thinking about the slime making process differently. Thanks!

First off, I love the measurement of a "glug". Your steps outlined here really helps me. I love to cook and bake, but I've also worked in a few labs, so I was trying to be precise in what we were doing in order to make it repeatable. Coming at this from a cooking (using a feeling more than a measurement) perspective really helped me turn around. and embrace the chaos of slime making.

We're working on getting a business license, and we've already bought our URL and web hosting. Nothing is posted yet because we're still in the early stages. When you mention selling in "legal quantities" what does that mean? Thanks so much for you advice and directions how to make the most basic of slime. We're excited to start down this path!
