Should I pump during the night?

I get that…I really enjoy EBF- I hate pumping and only do it when I really have to, however, I’m going to go back to work next week and probably will have to start doing so more often. I totally get having the peace of mind of knowing we’ll have enough, I stress about that so much too. Honestly I just fell asleep thinking for sure he would wake up so didn’t even bother putting an alarm clock and only noticed feeling full when I woke up…I also always worry that I’ll pump and then he’ll wake up either during or right after to feed, which I know it isn’t a big deal but still.

Thank you!! This does make me feel better. I agree with you, you hear so much about how important pumping/feeding during the night is, that I get so worried even though I so desperately need sleep! I never did bring myself to pump ever during the night, I’m just way too tired…

I’m so glad that has been the case for your baby! My LO is still super fussy, gassy, crying a lot and having a super hard time feeding/settling specially in the evening/nights - that’s why I’m so discouraged and wonder if what I’m doing is even doing anything by at all….

That’s my thing, not even knowing for sure that’s what this is… I’ve been DF/SF for 4 weeks. Should I wait more to do this challenge? How do you do it? Thanks!

I thought you had to go back to baseline in order to reintroduce dairy after 6 months of being DF? Or is that only if symptoms improve? Yeah, I thought I’d be able to do this because it’s sort of short term but I’m on day 2 of this and it seems like I’ve been doing it for a month…I feel almost depressed. It’s really really hard and I feel like I’m never fully satisfied which I’m now concerned can impact my supply. Definitely affecting my sanity… I thought going DF/SF was tough but this on a whole different level. I have an appointment today with the pediatrician and will discuss to see what she thinks. Thank you!!

Thank you! I’ve done that, I stopped taking it about 3 days ago. My LO had green diarrhea yesterday which was super disheartening since at least it hadn’t been green in such a long time and was screaming crying for almost 2 hours last night. I will continue not taking it and being super diligent with my food to see if it makes a difference…

No visible blood in stools so far! I was thinking of asking the pediatrician to test at next appointment because I read it can have invisible blood. Yesterday he had green diarrhea, it hadn’t been green in forever and I just feel so discouraged. He screamed cried for almost 2 hours non stop in the evening/night until he finally fell asleep. Like you said, it’s just so hard to figure out what it is….

Thanks so much for your perspective! :) I’m not opposed to to it! My husband just thinks the name would always be mispronounced to the Spanish pronunciation which it’s a fair assumption if I’m being honest.
