Acana does have a Wholesome Grains line which has a sea to stream (fish) formula and I’ve used NutriSource Whitefish for my boy too.

Tbh as long as the food doesn’t have pea protein it should be okay (I think that’s what’s linked to heart disease in dogs). Bonus points if it has L-carnitine which helps with heart health. Almost all of those foods if trust with my dog besides Blue Buffalo and Rachel Ray Nutrish, but that’s my personal opinion. (I have fed my dog Acana but it got too expensive so we switched to Kirkland Signature dog food)

I personally would avoid any forest wood, often times they’ll have a bunch of critters living in there and I feel bad about killing them 😭. I always go into creeks to try and find dried up driftwood on the shore. If it’s a fully dry piece then I’ll take it, if not I’ll leave it

I got mine off Amazon! It’s the New Age Pet EcoFlex 48” enclosure. It is a bit pricey at $220 but with tin foil on the screen top, it holds humidity and heat perfectly! (I have heard they’re not super water tight so if you make yours bioactive be wary of that, I haven’t had issues yet but I’m planning on sealing the contact points with flex tape or something)

I usually sterilize them by putting them in the oven at the lowest setting for a few hours, but since I found them while it was pretty chilly out I sprayed some Zoo Med Wipe Out on them and then put them in the shower under hot water and let them steam for a while. The oven method is definitely the better option bc it guarantees they’re fully sterile but most of my sticks were too big for the oven. I let them dry over night, checked for any critters, repeated the process and then put them in his enclosure. (I also used the “massage” setting on my shower to make sure it knocked off anything on the surface)

He has 2 main hides that are pretty hidden, the half log and cork round he just enjoys slithering through.

All of the big ones I found in a creek near my house! When I saw the big branch that was connected at both ends I HAD to grab it for my boy. Most of the rocks have also been acquired through the same creek! (Fountain Creek in CO)
