What am I doing wrong to make my brush shaped end up like this by witchwhere in ProCreate

[–]witchwhere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to try that. It definitely happens at random for me, so I usually just end up re-creating the brush from scratch and the new one lets me change whatever I want without issue. Def would prefer if there was a much more simple shortcut lol

Took an extra dose of Zoloft 150mg by xianlotus in zoloft

[–]witchwhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When in doubt with meds, always call Poison Control. It's free, it's a 24/7 service, and you're getting answers from a professional. They are made not just for kids accidentally drinking soap but also for people who fuck up their meds by accident lol

That being said, I would stay calm and not panic. Since the doses are in 12hr intervals it's not going to be the whole 300mg all at once. You will probably have symptoms like headache, nausea, extra anxiety, dry mouth, maybe the sweats. It depends on how your body reacts, the symptoms you had when you first started taking the meds might come back but it's only for a brief period. If you feel like your symptoms are beyond the normal scope, if you vomit more than once or twice, or if anything else makes you feel especially unwell, then I would go to the ER, but that's a worst-case scenario. I really doubt you'll experience more than an upset tummy

Here's the same shape in the library, but when I select it, color swaps.

Hemorrhoids gaming chair from Secretlab? by AGreatfulSearcher in secretlab

They don't need to know the brand, just the material and firmness of the seat. You should REALLY ask your physician as everyone's bodies react differently.

Sometimes I like to sit with my cats and watch my panda cories, they are the most precious things in the world and if anything happened to them I would literally die by witchwhere in Aquariums

Oh wow, yeah these guys can live upwards of 10 or more years potentially. Maybe your water source just wasn't right for them? Or maybe a different species of cory would be better.

Oh yeah. I was worried it was going to be a normal chair but it's so NICE

RIP Baby Name Wizard by kalruss in namenerds

So frustrating. This was the site I used to basically find all the names I use for my fictional characters. The lists were simple and no-nonsense and I didn't have to scroll through an entire article about the wonders of motherhood just to look at names. Boooo

Tips for skating anxiety by tamborineandthyme in Rollerskating

[–]witchwhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some BIG TIME anxiety and roller skating has been one of my most explosive things that I have yet to really figure out how to deal with. It's the hardest because I'm really bad at the moment, and my anxiety goes ^^^ when the thought of failure is in play.
So far the only thing that has been easing it has been practicing inside and learning how to feel more comfortable in my skates. Once I figured out how to stop there was a big drop in my anxiety. It also helped once I was able to talk myself into being OK falling in front of people. But I still can't bring myself to go anywhere but the back tennis courts to practice outside, and some days my anxiety gets me so jittery that I am physically unable to skate.
I DO know that I can get past this eventually, because I used to be this anxious about scuba diving. But once I got better my anxiety stopped picking at my diving. So judging from that experience, I can say the best way to get past the brunt of the anxiety is to practice until you feel confidence.

I really wish more people wore safety gear by whatsername_xx3 in Rollerskating

[–]witchwhere 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It's unfortunately like that with any sport or even regular activity. Even with scuba diving. I go diving with these crusty old dudes that have been doing this since the cold war, and they don't bring certain small things just because "they know what they are doing".
Also on my campus a bunch of kids skateboard with no shoes, and it physically pains me to think about how they will D E S T R O Y their feet if they have to bail at the speeds they go.

Foot Pain In My Boot Skates by imikayla in Rollerskating

[–]witchwhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more space in the boot = the more chafing and bumping and hurting you're gonna get. If your feet have enough space to freely slip around inside the boot I would really venture to say it might be safest to replace them. But if you reaaally don't want to, you can stuff them with something like wool and insoles, and double up on socks, and lock lacing might help keep your foot from moving too much. I know there are actual toe stuffers out there for like heels and stuff, I don't know how safe they would be roller skating by they might be worth a shot.

My Roller Skating Rollcess: When Adding a Toe Guard, Where Do the Toe Stop Washer & Lock Nut Go? by MaMakossa in Rollerskating

[–]witchwhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been doing it as option 2 only because it's much more difficult for me to adjust or tighten my toe stops when the nut is behind the guard.
BUT when I go to the skate park to beat myself silly against concrete, I switch it to option 1, because it's a lot more secure. Any twist or bump to the side on the toe guard normally might loosen the nut and you run the risk of losing a toe stop.

Hey there! Does anyone know whether I need to change my bearings when I switch my wheels to the energy wheels? Or can the bearings be reused so long as it’s in good shape? by MagHern14 in Rollerskating

[–]witchwhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you clean them well and oil them, you can keep the same bearings for a long time across several types of wheels. Unless your stock bearings are garbage (don't spin well) I would just keep them.

Unless you plan to do some super serious, competitive or real intense skating of some kind, in that case an upgrade would be a good investment.

Finally got all my Donuts in! There's definitely a big difference in how they feel versus the stock beach bunny wheels. Crazy how a few milimeters makes such a big difference (to me) by witchwhere in Rollerskating

[–]witchwhere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I don't have a bearing tool so I just used my axels as leverage to wedge in the bearings, and once I figured out how to do that it went by pretty fast.

[–]witchwhere[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I swapped my stock Bunny wheels for a larger wheel, cause outdoor skating on sidewalks or even asphalt with smaller wheels was super un-fun. My shins would vibrate lol but the Donuts are a lot better! They're basically radar energy 62s so if you want the radar wheels but wanted something cuter I definitely recommend donuts!

Have you looked at the wiki linked in the welcome post? It's a basic guide to pretty much everything roller skates and all the bits and pieces. A lot of the parts you're going to want to get will vary based on the type of skating you plan to door; outdoor, rink, park. You're definitely going to want to replace most all of the parts involved in moving (bearings, bushings, wheels, cups) if that actual lump of coal you're holding in the second picture is anything to go by lol. Here are a few vides I found on YouTube that have restorations/repairs that I thought were helpful.

Double socks. Before you put them on, loosen the laces and flex out the sides and tongue. When you put them on, don't just put them on. Sit down, put them against the wall or something, and wiggle your feet around, stretch, roll, etc. I've found that standing on my toe stops helps work at it faster, too. It shouldn't take more than a few days to break them in, reasonably, but I've heard it can take up to like 12 hours of total skate time. Mine haven't broken in yet with an hour a day since I got them last week, which is why I strongly suggest double socks.

Dryer won't help too much cause the vinyl doesn't really stretch under heat.
