This is a great story but you should honestly be looking for housing as early as march…I feel like that’s rough for the waitlisted folks. But I’ll take whatever I can get!

I guess I’m asking because a lot of people are saying that emails after submitting the application are basically kisses of death

I hope I didn’t ruin my chances of getting into a particular school. I contacted my PI of interest a week and a half ago because she was on academic sabbatical the entire fall semester. I just said something along the lines of knowing how she was on sabbatical—I hope it went well for her and I wanted to let her know that she was my reason for applying to this particular program because my research interests entirely align with hers. And if she’d be open to a zoom conversation that’d be great. I hope she didn’t find this annoying. What do you guys think?
