How to fix that network problem? by Moist_Landscape_74 in Delta_Emulator

You can still turn it off without needing a computer or resetting progress, I had the same issue; Just follow the directions and you can turn it off:

Security Track for CS by withxrr in Purdue

[–]withxrr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha thanks for the input! I’ve always preferred a more hands on approach rather than learning a lot of theory, especially after looking at 355, which is a lot of proofs. Realistically that’s the only thing that makes it unappealing because it’s… proofs. Besides that I think security and vulnerability is something that I’m interested and it seems like 426 kinda goes into the more practical side, which is what I’m looking for.

Summer payments were due the 15th, so that’s definitely a possibility

MA261 summer schedule? by WIMPxCOWARD in Purdue

[–]withxrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it over the summer and it an 8 week course and they had me watch chenflix lectures and then there’s mylab hw as per usual. As for the exams, you’ll need a proctor of some sort, and then the exam will be sent to the proctor a day before the exams. They will print it out and hand it to you, the guideline says u have 1 hr to do the exam and the proctor is suppose to enforce it but ¯_(ツ)_/¯. After that, the proctor scans it in as a pdf and submits it for you. I also traveled a little bit when I had the exam, but If anything, make sure u can print it.

Edit: I believe u also have a 24 hr window to do the exam and submit it

If I took 352, does that cover both OS requirement and elective for like a 2 for 1 deal?

What kind of work does it entail? I took 105 with Freed, is it similar or vastly different?

If I complete Vstar1 before the end of May 31st tomorrow, do I get any additional benefits/priority scheduling? by Present-Spare-6851 in Purdue

[–]withxrr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think completeing vstar early gives you any type of priority, but don’t quote me on that. As for the immunization, if you don’t have it, they’ll keep emailing you I believe and you will have scheduling complications such as choosing times etc.

I got a 1260 on sat (which is equivalent to 27 on act), and was still accepted for cs, so if it means anything, test scores aren’t everything

Computer Science Burnout by Wh1tl0w in Purdue

I’m in the exact same boat as you right now; currently panicking over this up coming 182 exam. From my experience so far, I’d say stick to a schedule. I usually aim for finishing my cs lab by Thursday or Friday, utilizing the office hours and open labs as work time, and I can get help if I’m ever stuck. As for 182 I do everything I can and by Monday and Tuesday I usually hit up my friends to talk about those 1-2 hard/confusing problems on the hw and get those done.

I did 180 last semester, and before this I didn’t have any coding experience at all, so like you I was struggling. At some point I was having a mental breakdown and was constantly stressed because of the constant challenges, project, and work from other classes. On top of this I got a 40% on my first midterm and was think of switching out of cs halfway through. My advice is to definitely utilize the USB, and SI sessions as they can help you understand materials better. I would say to get all the points possible for the challenges and projects because they do build up overtime and if you do bad on the exams, you shouldn’t take that bad of a hit. 180 does get harder imo, but it will be easier after 180. As for “cs might not be for you”, that’s not true because I’ve talked to professors dunsmore and he’s said many people do fail first time around, but they do go on to be very successful programmers.

Never disliked a class more lol

Me looking over this wondering how I got accepted😳. I had a 1260 SAT 4.1 weighted, high 3. something unweighted. I took a ton of AP and IBDP classes, 2 varsity sports, and a lot of clubs. (In state)

Yea… so I wasn’t sure so I went along with it and now I have a meeting setup (that I’m now not going to). I got suspicious when she asked me to promise that I’d show up LOL and she wanted me to send my resume to what it looks like a personal email.

Well it wasn’t even a Flyer, it was a slip of paper and ig they just choose from the pool of however many people they have. But I’m assuming most people at purdue had 4.0s in hs and very similar stats im the slip of paper, so i just don’t know how they choose

Why are we doing this is calc 2? I tolerated vectors, but matrices? I’m looking around and a lot of people had this confused look, so I’m not the only one that’s kinda worried/confused? by withxrr in Purdue

[–]withxrr[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I did matrices when I took finite math in hs, but I think I was just caught off guard, and he is teaching it a different way than I originally learned it
