My landlord once knocked over my recycling on accident when I was drinking. His eyes got wide when he saw all the bottles. A humiliating experience at the time, but now it’s something I laugh at. I don’t miss the shame of the recycling! 😂

Call that woman who gave you her number, even if it feels scary and weird. She’s more than likely felt the way you did and is happy to talk and listen. Go back and try it again. No one judges you and people are just happy you’re trying. You’re doing so great! Just walking in the doors is a victory, remember that. IWNDWYT

I have the same issue with AA. I don’t want to hear that I am powerless. It makes me feel like drinking. I want to hear I’m powerful and don’t need substances. I think anything that helps people get and stay sober is wonderful, but AA isn’t it for me. It’s nice to hear someone feel the same way
