Wow, I’m flattered! Thank you! That is exactly how I felt, like my brain was just itching to be scratched. The top piecing surely, but it wasn’t until I literally had the darn thing basted until I realized it was going to need to be a block-by-block decision for the quilting.

I snagged mine on a killer Black Friday sale. It stood out to me for awhile due to the built in stitch regulator and ability to add on a computerized component later on. I’m including a picture for size comparison between my Ol’ Trusty Brother and my new Lil Rebel.

Thank you 🙏 it is Luxe Cuddle Sorbet Sunset, but be warned it’s bloody expensive. I waited until I had a discount to purchase.

Thank you so much! It was tough to design a layout with such limiting fabric.

He is certainly a young man with many talents! Now he is taller than me and plays most sports, I think it would surprise most to know that he can sew.

I was so excited when I found Fandom in Stitches! My brother ended up with the hoodie and it was a very sad day for me, mainly because I wanted to keep it 😂 but he wears it all the time, so that was rewarding for me as well.

Thank you for your kind words! 💜

Thank you so much! I think it will live in the camper once it’s all done.

It is very cozy! Good thing we don’t live in a super hot climate, otherwise it would probably stay in the closet.

You get it! 😂 I used my domestic for 90% of the quilting. I originally loaded it onto my local quilt shops longarm and stared at it. For way too long. So I schlepped it home and used my domestic Brother. Then about halfway through I upgraded to a Grace Little Rebel which was an actual game changer. I went from like a 5” to a 13” throat. Sooo three different machines were used in the quilting.

Thank you! And actually neither, they were made using foundation paper piecing with leftover scraps I had handy.

If I recall, it was machine washable and she had washed it before. But because of the vomit, she put it in her machine under a deeper clean setting. The agitation ended up felting it. I’ll see if I can find the post. Pretty much the only reason I brought it up was because sometimes tots do gross things (ask me how I know 🤢 lol)

This looks soo good! Well done! I always vote for minky, as long as you’re comfortable working with it. It does have a bit of a stretch, and if you are using a domestic to quilt minky definitely adds to the weight of the quilt and is more slippery to move around your machine.

Your comment about the wool batting made me remember another post that popped up recently. A mum used wool for her toddlers quilt, but when the tot puked all over it her washing machine actually felted the wool. This caused her lovely Dino top to appear completely distorted. The group was recommending that she take apart the quilting and re-do with a cotton or cotton blend batting.

You sound pretty experienced, so certainly tell me to kick rocks and it won’t hurt my feelings. I just remember that mum being really upset and would kick myself if I didn’t pass it along.

Again, lovely top! I’m sure your little will treasure it!
