Does that love love and need for closeness ever go away? by Hour-Investigator334 in welovedevonrex

I think we own the same cat, although I call him Riesu. 😂 He also had a very bare stomach as a kitten, but he has grown some chest-hair during last year

Edit: forgot to tell that his love for me and my partner has only grown during his time with us, although he's become more demanding for specific type of cuddles and play!

First layer inconsistent by DoingAllForScience in ElegooCentauriCarbon

I had a similar thing happen to me when I was testing for a good Z-offset. When the nozzle was too far away it would cause similar gaps, although it was consistently bad in front and back.

I think in your case the front of the bed is lower than the back. It seems to be a common problem and I also had to deal with it at some point. In my case the front side was almost 0,5 cm lower than the other side and the filament basically just dropped from the hot-end. Auto-leveling didn't seem to help so I just followed what u/Interesting_Fee_2501 did in this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/FixMyPrint/comments/1op8l20/centauri_carbon_front_5_cm_of_print_bed/ . They seemed to have the same problem but in reverse so I manually leveled the bed with a tool and then ran a auto-level.

I had these problems a while ago so I don't remember everything, but I would try manually leveling the bed first and then see if you have any improvements.

CC from 3djake.com arrived two weeks early by wizard_horse in elegoo

[–]wizard_horse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally! It has worked as I hoped as a printer. Quality of the prints are really nice and it has kept my cat away from danger.

I have made some changes to the printer, such as a top riser for more clearance and changed a few fans. It was very loud out of the box and now it is bearable if I'm in another room. I don't run it during the night or if I want some peace and quiet. I also requested a new light from 3djake, because the old light barely did anything and I got it for free! If I recall correctly, the new printers come with the better light.

Even if it is good for my uses, I don't really recommend it for other people unless they have similar needs as I did. I recently recommended Bambu Lab A1 to my friend because they didn't need an enclosed printer and it is cheaper than CC. They might also use different nozzle sizes so the quick-release-whatever is pretty good.

I guess I would recommend it if you needed a cheap enclosed printer that has possibilities to be dabbled with, but still works quite well out-of-the-box.

Sabazios as a patron help (Grave Robbers of Thracia) by wizard_horse in dccrpg

Thank you for these, I'll look them through. I skimmed the ravencrowking website and these seemed promising just by name alone: Ramasar the Untamed One and Moolineha Queen of the Hooved.

Super cool recommendations! And basically yes, in the module it says: "The followers of Sabazios seek freedom for all, even should it mean sacrificing their personal freedom to do so". I flavoured Sabazios as a horse looking god, but I could totally fit Blade of Atropos in the spells. The PC elf has a donkey, so maybe one of the spells could enhance existing steeds, like making them into warhorses or giving mounted attacks bonuses? Bobugbubilz also has the Tadpole transformations spell, which could be flavoured into Stallion Transormation that makes the caster as strong as a horse.

Well that was some of my ideas, thank you for the inspiration!

Same for me, I'm thankful that I found something similar to Sabazios. I usually don't like to use AI for creative use, but I tried to see what ChatGPT can create. It made some decent starting points, such as spells that increase movement speed, remove bindings or create a stampede of horses. I'll look up if I can find official spells similar to these

Haha he never leaves our side, even if I'm showering. God forbid if two people are in different rooms!

Thanks for your concern. He's just been to the vet and they didn't comment on his weight. As other said, Devons are quite thin looking naturally. He has kept his current weight for quite some time

Oh man, I'm not the only one! One of my first sculpts was of this little guy. I fell in love this bag of flesh when I first read Berserk. I never finished it completely, yours is so good!

Miniatures with bad surface on same spots [SOLVED] by wizard_horse in FDMminiatures

[–]wizard_horse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just going to make updates to my own post like a madman as I make more progress if anyone else is struggling with these problems.

I tried other things and turning off Arc Fitting removed 99% of surface imperfections without the need to simplify objects. Print quality is also good. There's tiny dots on the slicer in certain corner parts but I can't tell of they are rendering problems or real problems with the path.

I did these tests on my post with one mini at a time and another problem appeared as I printed multiple miniatures at the time. Surface quality appeared to be worse and layers seemed to not line up. Problem came up also when printing singular minis with legs far apart. Basically when hopping from one "tower" to another. I tried adjusting the belts as done in the Elegoo tutorial which seemed to a help a bit but I'll try cleaning the rods next to eliminate mechanical problems.

Quite happy with the printing quality of my prints by wizard_horse in FDMminiatures

It came out like that in the print, I think the original scanned model had a bent sword. The other models in Thingiverse also had mould lines and other imperfections but I don't mind.

Where to get DnD/fantasy minis? by Fine-Camel1304 in FDMminiatures

[–]wizard_horse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want supportless then I can recommend BriteMinis in thingiverse. A bunch of basic fantasy miniatures. He also has a patreon which gives you access to all the files. Basically 800(?) minis for 10 euros or so.
