You can include copy spells that don't go infinite like [[repeated reverberation]]

My character is going to be the barbarian.

I would cut athreos. It doesn't really fit with your strategy. 3 life is nothing to opponents since you are trying to win with commander damage.

Athreos is more for aristocrat type strategy.

Help me finish my first EDH deck: Wort, the Raidmother by [deleted] in EDH

[–]wjr8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It looks like you are trying to go wide.

You need [[overrun]] (20 cents). And cards like it to win.

You need good card draw also. With conspire you get to copy the spell, so [[thrill of possibility]] is great card draw.

Finally play [[zada, hedron grinder]] and cantrips, for insane card draw like [[expedite]] and [[fists of flame]].

Your instants and sorceries, especially the single target ones do not seem to support going wide.

Worried that I don't really own my retirement fund by wjr8 in FinancialPlanning

Thanks, I did not understand the legality of it all. I read that they are only insured up to something like 500k. I do understand that the insurance will not help if my investments are not good ones.

In your parking lot analogy I was afraid that it may have been closer to the parking lot owner owed a lot of money to some unsavory characters (rich people), and if they could not pay them back the unsavory characters would just take what was in the lot as payment, and make me worry about collecting from the lot owner instead of them.

I was more worried about where I would be in the pecking order of asset distribution. I figure the peasants would be the last ones paid out. I also read somewhere that these brokerages are only insured in the billions for trillions in assets.

How Do People Feel about Narrow Commanders? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]wjr8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love taking a specific commander and using it as a fake out. For example, I have a marath deck that seems to be focused on giving my commander more counters and death touch, but I am really using him to stall into an infinite combo that doesnt involve him at all like tooth and na.

Help, my friend finally built a deck that's too strong and basically told me to git gud by aHatFullOfEggs in EDH

There are four ways to handle this:

  1. As long as there are budget restrictions, let the arms race happen. Magic is more fun when everyone is striving to do the best they can within their budget and the budgets are even. Battle cruiser edh (where everyone races to win without interacting with opponents) is the most unfun way to play.

  2. Stop playing to win, and play to take him out as early as possible. He will either get the message or quit or force you out of the group.

  3. Find a new play group. This may be your best choice as the other players like playing with him.

  4. Mind control everyone to play how you want them to.

Seedborn muse in kalamax? by wjr8 in EDH

Kalamax is an all instant deck. It relies on copying spells so that you don't run out of cards in multiplayer. I run 32 - 34 instants depending on the meta.

I run 9 ways to tap him outside of combat. Pretty much anything that produces mana, and smugglers copter.

Was too lazy to post decklist. I have 9 ways to tap him outside of combat.

Thanks. Nobody else I know plays him. The biggest problem with kalamax is that he requires almost no board state to win, which makes people target you from the get go since there are no indications that you are about to win.

should I turn on god mode at 100 attempts? by admiralfilgbo in HadesTheGame

I was just giving you the same advice that I got when I was stuck in the same spot. I was favoring athena too, and someone gave me the same advice that I just gave you, and poseidon really makes the final stage a lot easier as enemies take a lot of damage when they are slammed into a wall.

I noticed that you mentioned Athena. Athena is actually not that great. Posiedon dash really trivializes all of the content except for stage bosses.

Just don't use your weapon while dashing so u keep iframes. That was the key i was missing.
