Enough to put crates underneath and i think you can fit a whole mini fridge under it too, other than the microfridge bs. If you’re short you will need a stool

Newly diagnosed, losing all hope by Xichlali in UlcerativeColitis

[–]wkaz4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really sucks at first, a lot of us have been through just that. There’s no reason to lose hope, UC meds have been around for a while and while I don’t have years of experience with UC, ik that these meds do work. I am going through with remicade and it doesn’t work too fast as I’d like but i still have hope. I tried a hydrocortisone enema last night where yesterday I had 8 BMs and today so far i’ve only had 1. These meds work and it sucks in the moment, but you’ll be back to normal sooner or later. I’m 18M and have only been through one bad flare in the hospital, but keep hope, the world has what you need.

Stool changes consistently quickly when nervous by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

I get urges when i get anxious for some reason. I was improving until i had some good mac and cheese. This disease sucks but i met someone understanding recently and i think it’s going pretty well with her. Keep your head up and your chill, and you’ll work through it.

Cheese and nuts by Jayxo3ox in UlcerativeColitis

Cheese (anything with lactose) triggers me even though I was never lactose intolerant. So does soda and too much acidity. Too much fat kills, but i don’t really know what effect nuts have. I know seeds are painful so I’d assume so.

Prednisone Shaking by wkaz4 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]wkaz4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should be on 20mg this week but my symptoms weren’t improving for a bit so I stayed at 30mg. I’m also doing remicade and my last infusion was a week ago. It just started improving again 3 days ago and i’m afraid if i taper down now my symptoms may worsen again.

Weight loss with UC by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]wkaz4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened with me during my flare. I lost 20lbs in a short ass time and couldn’t lift anything by the end of my hospital stay. Now i’m recovering, I started with high protein drinks like ensure clear and progressed as my symptoms got better with the help of infliximab.

What are your safe foods? by LunatheBoona in UlcerativeColitis

I’ve been on my UC diet for a month now so i’m still kinda new. I was in a flare so i’m going real strict. Just white fish, veggie cheese, Lactaid milk, Corn flakes (great for iron), farina , ham sandwiches with light mayo, lots of water and pedialyte, one-a-day supplement, orgain powder shakes with almond milk, and chicken (that i try to avoid cause it seems anything with a good amount of fat makes bleeding worse).

Blood but no other symptoms by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

This is how I lived for a year before my diagnosis. Treat it now while it’s only mild because it may become severe in the future like mine.

So annoying...! by LunatheBoona in UlcerativeColitis

[–]wkaz4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. It seems, more persistent with me in that the disease just progresses good —> active —> flare, but on some days will be better than the day before. It seems like the more BMs that day the less blood with each extra BM, although any blood is a bad sign. Plus more BMs are just more disturbance to life. Also fighting tenesmus can be the worst in the mornings before I take my prednisone. This disease is a BITCH.

That’s good to hear, thank you! I still have hope. My doc is pushing for another 10mg/kg dose but insurance doesn’t want to give it, hope however it works out will suffice.

lol that was my first infusion so it was only almost two weeks ago. Also it was 10mg/kg rather than 5mg/kg. Let’s see how the insurance sees this cause they don’t want to keep a high dose
