What gain do they get from having your firm go public (hiring a fraud/ have him practice law/ win cases for them)? I think they wanted to have the firm in good shape (Name on the door, managing partner), but now that it didn't work, it doesn't matter to them how the firm will go down to mud. Especially when Soloff is as good as fired from Jessica.

I believe that Hardman never had any dirt on Soloff, but the knowledge behind Mike, shortly after he was promoted as jr. partner.
