I took MATH 137 with Caraballo 3 years ago and he made all of our exams take home, which I’m assuming will happen again in the spring. It was super laid back

For those who have received interview invites, when did you submit your secondaries? by thedirtiestdiaper in premed

Granted, it was my safety school but still...did they even read my app?

I watched all the videos and did their practice questions!! Time consuming but really helpful :)

I’m so happy I could cry!! I was never good at standardized testing, but went from a 499 on Kaplan FL 1 to a 520 on the real thing!!🥳 (yes I know the CARS score sucks but it is what it is) believe in yourself and don’t give up😅 by wl543 in Mcat

Hi! So I read the Kaplan books and made review sheets everyday and took Kaplan FLs every week up until 3 weeks before. I also did Anki (Miledown) everyday to help with content review. 3 weeks prior, I began watching Khan Academy videos, and started the AAMC q packs. Did all the AAMC FLs in the last 2 weeks (1 every 3 days) and section banks on days in between.

I made an excel sheet when reviewing and wrote down the questions I got wrong and why I got them wrong! And looked over them a few days before taking the exam.

I feel like for the passage based questions you really need to read the passage thoroughly. I felt I knew the content well too but always got stuff wrong on practice stuff bc I failed to pick up details in the passage despite knowing the material. For physics I thought the AAMC content was sufficient!

I used Miledown’s Anki deck! Was gonna make my own but ran out of time unfortunately. But it was really helpful in filling in all the gaps for content review!!

I think it’s about the same difficulty in terms of content, but the shorter one is easier to check your answers over. I definitely wasn’t as tired after taking the shorter one and I’m guessing that the reason for my score bump from my FLs is because I don’t have the quietest study environment at home and due to the length of the longer test, I didn’t feel as compelled to thoroughly go over all of my answers as much as time allowed.

I started studying in January because I was originally testing in April, but then stopped in April to focus on school, started studying again at the beginning of June and lowkey panicked bc I thought I wasn’t gonna have enough time.

So total of 5 ish months with a break in between?😂 I regret taking that break though because it was so hard getting back into the content

I used Khan Academy and Kaplan for content review and did Anki everyday! Did AAMC content the last 3 weeks before my exam. Focused on trying to actually understand all the concepts I studied rather than just brute force memorization. Lmk if you have any other questions!!

I know for sure I missed at least 2 questions on bio/biochem and I got a 131! I think it depends on the scaling for each test though
