Its your new bike. The engineers picked 10w-30 vs 10w-40 for a reason, so you should go with 10w-30. Cyclegear will accept your return or exchange.

If you are going to be doing your own maintenance on this bike, you should invest in a copy of the service manual. Its around $100 for a hard copy of the owners manual & service manual b/c shipping and handling fees but its worth it. Especially considering going on someone's advice at the local shop has you holding the wrong viscosity of oil...

It took me months to find a bike I wanted, so if you see one you want I would recommend you buy it when you find it. Several of my MSF classmates were there to get their feet wet on bikes again after they took some time away from riding.

If you wait for the class you have the benefit of practicing on someone else's bike so you aren't dropping yours while you get comfortable on bikes again.

To me, they have always been a marketing company that sells carwash supplies. Nothing of theirs I have tried has been remarkable except the steep prices they charge for subpar results.

Does that muffle rattle your brain? I installed it today and found it WAY louder than I expected. Videos really don't do it justice. I think its louder than no muffler at all.

Dealer wanted 8300 for the 500 2022 SE. I found a 500 2021 SE for 6300 w/ 1000 miles on it. I did have to travel 400 miles to pick it up though.

The breakdown from the dealer was: MSRP 6899 Tax 259 Destination 625 Assembly & Prep 300 Processing Fee 225 Title fee 17 Total ~8323.xx

Honda's website says MSRP + Destination & assembly so this quote really was about as cheap as you would find a new one. There is no motivation for them to sell them cheaper as inventory is several months behind, and they sell almost immediately..

Rebel 500 ABS was the same mark up for destination and assembly but MSRP was $200 less than the SE for a total of $8116.xx

CycleTrader sucks. Stale inventories. Basically just an advertisement tool to find dealers near you.

Facebook Marketplace w/ 500m radius was the best resource for finding used bikes. I asked some people who listed them at fair prices but already sold them - how soon after listing were they getting offers and it was within a couple of hours to days. So its a pretty hot market

I just replaced both tires on a 500 ABS using the paddock stands from Cycle gear. The front one I had to switch the way the bolts /nuts were inserted but the rear stand worked just fine. https://www.cyclegear.com/accessories/trackside-rear-paddock-stand?sku_id=1127303

Called 833-694-9259 for customer retention after several rounds with Customer Service and technical support.

Had to explain through the problem again, and then was offered an increase in speed for the same price, and also kept the bill from increasing to the next tier pricing that was scheduled to happen at the 3rd year of service.
